How to manage dual sim device

Hi,

I need to manage dual sim device as follow

Sim 1 should only use for take calls

Sim 2 should only allow to use for Internet access (all applications should access Internet via this sim only)

user should not able to enable the Internet on Sim 1 or disable the Internet on Sim 2.

In general, I don't think you can remotely change/enforce configurations to separate voice and data traffic on a dual-SIM devices.    There may also limitations from your hardware ( i.e. whether there are right 2/3/4/5G hardware modems to concurrently support the two SIM card plan traffic).    If the hardware can support two concurrent SIM card connections, it also depends on how the firmware support various traffic configurations via the device's Settings app (rather than with MDM software).

I don't have any Samsung A12, but happen to have a Samsung A22 5G on hard.    From the screenshots below, you can see that it is possible to set PREFERENCE for SIM card 1 to support voice and SMS, and SIM card 2 to support data traffic.  Turning off the "Auto Data Switching" ensures that SIM card 1 will NOT be used for data traffic.  However, there is only option to forward incoming voice call for SIM card 2 to SIM card 1 number,  which may partially serve your purpose.   It is probably not possible to disallow end-user from  making outgoing voice call with SIM card 2 number. 

 All the above cannot be set remotely via MDM.  You can just manually configure them on the device's Settings.  If device end-user is not blocked from accessing the same Settings pages with lockdown menu or application-run-control policy,  it is not possible to guarantee that the desired traffic flow are enforced after the device has been deployed.

Unfortunately, SOTI currently does not have such functions.

 

You may log a case to SOTI Technical Support and raise a feature request.

 

FYI, a feature request takes a considerable amount of time to be released in general as it requires research and development.

 

Please also help to put this post as Solved if you think you have a solution in this post.
