For a customer with approx 50 - 100 Android devices planned in Soti Mobicontrol, we want to set set it up with a single touch (one barcode).
The only issue is, all the devices schould have fixed ip adresses. Is there an option to manage this by scripts to set the Wireless settings and ip settings based on serialnumber for example.
What kind of devices are those?
I would realy recommend using temporary "staging" wlan with DHCP and connection to the Soti and afterwards switching to the production wlan with static adresses otherwise prepare to spend quite some time with each device. I assume customer don't have problem paying for it when he's using static IPs with this amount of devices.
Depending on the manufacturer of the devices there could be other options but it still requires knowledge and time to prepare config for this kind of scenario.
There is no generic MobiControl script to directly set static IP address of a device.
Depending on your device brand/model, the OEM manufacturer may have its OEMConfig compliant app to configure static IP address or related parameters via third-party MDM software.
