Assume the ERG and the SOTI Apps Server Extension should exist on the same Server?

Hi,

We have followed the instructions for the ERG.  Part of which we have bound the ERG to a new port within IIS.

When installing the Soti Apps Server Extension it asks for a port.  If I enter the port of the ERG, the port is already in use.

The Soti Apps Servers installation states the following in relation to the port.

"The port that ERG runs on. Devices connect to the ERG using this port.

Using a dedicated port is recommended."

Does it actually need to be the same port or a dedicated port?

Thanks

Hi Dan,

if you only want to route SOTI Surf traffic through this server, you do not need to install and configure the IIS component.

For SOTI Surf it is sufficient to install SOTI Apps Server Extension.

As far as I know the IIS-ERG is only needed for ActiveSync and SOTI Hub traffic.

Hi Simon,

Thanks.  We are looking to utilise both Soti Hub and Soti Surf.

While I realise Soti surf, via the ERG, could access our internal sharepoint environment, Soti Hub provides a built in viewer for the office documents. (Enable DLP settings)  Thus, minimising the licensing woes.

Soti Surf is then left to provide access to those other internal websites.
