How to create a report about the number of prints in a given period?

I would like to create/receive a report whenever our (zebra 610) printers have printed a given amount of labels. I need this information to decide whether a printer/head clean is nessecary. (we have a lot of glue buildup)

Best case i receive a monthtly report showing the totals printed that month for every printer within that department. The printers of the different departments are allready located in their own group. I can see the total prints of each printer, but not per month/week/year.

 

What would be the best way to achieve this?

Hi Maurice,

Thanks for posting on SOTI Pulse. 

Kindly try the following steps:

1. Enable Data Recording

You must record daily snapshots to calculate monthly totals.

  • Create a Data Collection Rule.

  • Target: Select your departmental Groups.

  • Properties: Select Total Labels Printed and Media Printed Since Last Head Clean.

  • Schedule: Set to Daily.

2. Generate Monthly Reports

  • Go to the Reports section and select Device Operational History.

  • Filter: Select the specific Department Group.

  • Metric: Select Total Labels Printed.

  • Range: Set to Last Month.

  • Calculation: Subtract the value on day 1 from the value on day 30 to get the monthly total.

3. Automate Cleaning Decisions

To decide when a clean is necessary based on glue buildup:

  • Create a Conditional Rule.

  • Condition: If Media Printed Since Last Head Clean is Greater Than your specific limit (e.g., 5,000 labels).

  • Action: Select Send Email to notify the department.

4. Reset after Cleaning

  • After cleaning the glue, go to the Devices list and select the printer.

  • Click the Actions button in the top menu.

  • Select Change Odometer Settings from the dropdown list.

  • Reset Media Printed Since Last Head Clean to 0.
