Long press of the back button is the easiest and usual way to exit of the lockdown screen on any android device(Asus or Samsung). What option do you get on long press of back button on your Asus device?

When I hold down the back button, "Screen Unpinned" will pop up, which then also brings up the Home and Multi-Window buttons that are normally hidden. I still can't use the home button, but the multi-window button will bring up the other windows if there are any. It does not bring up the Admin and Refresh buttons like the Samsungs do. 

Your probem is very likely dependent on the Android version, the device agent used and how ASUS engineers wrote the device firmware.  Unfortunately, I don't have such model to try things out.  You likely need to open an official support ticket with Soti support team, so that they can investigate further on the cause or find possible workaround.

However, your problem can be solved easily if 

1. MobiControl device agent is an item in your  lockdown menu ( End-user can  then tap on the green "user mode" in the configuration tab of the device agent to initiate a prompt window to input administrator password);

OR

2. it is OK for you to add an extra lockdown menu item to directly prompt device end-user to input the device-administrator password.

The best option left for you to bring the device online is to insert a sim card(with internet connection) into the device and monitor the device from MobiControl web-console. After bringing the device online, please revoke the lockdown profile from web-console and enter the WiFi details on the device. Once the device connects to WiFi, push the Lockdown profile again and remove sim card.

Please follow the below link to remove the "Screen pinning", so that next time when you long press the back button from lockdown screen, you will get the pop-up to enter the Admin password

Also, please include Settings Manager profile on your lockdown screen to avoid such scenarios in future. It will allow you to scan the available networks without getting out of lockdown.

I am not sure how possible it would be for me to insert a SIM card into the device. I was going to see if it would take the one from my phone, but my phone uses a Nano SIM, whereas the tablet takes a Micro SIM, assuming that the swap worked at all. I am also able to get to the settings menu, so I checked on the screen pinning. It is turned off, so that's not the problem. I also double checked my settings and all of my devices are set to always have WiFi enabled and to allow scanning, so that doesn't seem to be the problem either. When I hold the back button and unpin the screen, I can get to the settings menu and go into WiFi settings. It appears to be scanning, but it doesn't seem to ever find any WiFi. I have tried on my home network and a mobile hotspot, it just won't find it.

That is an interesting concept, and I am going to look more into it. It doesn't help me right now, but if I can get the tablets out to a location that they are already programmed to connect to the wifi, I can send the updated lockdown menu in. I didn't even think about adding that to the lockdown menu. Thanks for the idea.
