Unenroll and enroll a device in the same prosess

Hi.

I am adding a managed google play account to my android devices and some of these devices will not receive this account. I get the message that the device do not support this even it is GMS device.

I have tested to run enterprise reset but still it will not add an account.
If I unenroll and enroll it adds account.

There is so many devices, so I was hoping to do this from MobiControl using a script.

Is there a solution for this?

Hi Kjetil,

To add an account, you can check out the profile->Feature control-> add account option for one of your test device. You may change below setting and re-try again.

I hope it helps. Thank you

I assume we are talking about fully managed devices only?
Are the issuing devices enrolled different from those which are working?
Are they the same model/brand and firmware?

Thanks for your response.

Feature control is set to "Allow Account Creation" = No Accounts. And this is for all my devices. I don't want to allow the user to set an account.

This regards Zebra TC56 Android 8 OEM 02-52-21.00-OG-U06-STD

They are fully managed and for those who received account and for those who won’t receive the account they have the same OEM and configuration.

I tried to revoke feature control and I tried to upgrade to the latest LG 02-52-21.00-OG-U09-STD with no success.

Since the devises receive account by unenroll and enrol I was hoping to do this from SOTI not physically on the device.

I have a total of 1432 devices and 418 of them will not receive account.

Your problem of having devices with different behaviour may be related to the procedures you took (in re-enrollment, provisioning method, etc.), the default add-devices rule for Android device platform in your server, the device firmware or other provisioning set-up of your system, etc.

Since you said you have successfully add managed Google account on some of your devices by unenrolling then re-enrolling, I have to firstly clarify whether you are actually trying to REPLACE (and not ADD) the binding of your AE device from your old MGP account to a new MGP account.

If so, you should have two AE bindings already created on your server.  For the web-console of many recent MobiControl versions, there is already a device option to change an enrolled device binding from one to the other.

If the managed Google account to want to add is completely not related to the managed Google Play account associated with AE binding.  Then, it is a totally different story.

Hi, Raymond

These devices do not have any account before I try to add MGP.

Hi Kjetil,
Do you get the message device do not support this action in the WebConsole when using the Reset Account action?

Have these devices been migrated from DA to DO by the builtin migration process for Zebra devices in MobiControl?

Hi, Robert

That is the message I get using Reset Account.

Yes, these devices was migrated from DA to DO back in 2020 by using the build in migration prosess in MC.

Do you know a way to sol this?

Hi,
Had the same issue after DA to DO migration, even if the process were successful on the device and device shows up as Android Enterprise in the WebConsole there is still som entrys left in the database labeling them incorectly as AndroidPlus. Thats why they shows as not supported.

It can be fixed by modify these devices in the database, think you should open an support ticket so Soti can provide you with an sql script for that or if MobiControl cloud they can run the sql script to fix the devices.
