THE HOUSE OF LAROSE

We just moved our SOTI Mobicontrol 13.4 from a 2008 server to a 2016 server. We are using Mobicontrol to lockdown Honeywell CN51 handhelds running Windows CE.

On the devices I am able to change servers. Menu>Configuration>Server>Add I was able to add the new server and then delete the old server and upgrade the agents.

I encounter a problem when I have device that comes back from repair and the OS has been wiped.

On the old server I could enter the URL https://soti2008/MC/files/Agents/45 to get the device agent.  When I enter the URL to get the device from the new server https://soti2016/MC/files/Agents/45 and install the agent it still points to the old server.

My question is on the new server how do I find the device agent and edit it so I can automatically point he devices to new server?

As there were no details on how you performed your server migration or the network configurations,  it is not known whether the procedure taken was appropriate or not.

However, as your current problem seems to be related to enrolling a new device, the following may be a sensible solution, though I haven't played with Windows CE/Mobile devices on MobiControl for quite some time.    As server information is also embedded in the installation file by the device agent manager, you have to create a new Add-Devices rule and  a  corresponding new installation file on the new MobiControl server. The new URL wil then be different from  https://soti2016/MC/files/Agents/45 you mentioned.  Alternatively, you may try creating a new mcsetup.ini file on the new server and copy the file to the same directory folder as the installation exe file on the device.

We upgraded from 13.2 to 13.4 before the move, and had SOTI help us with the move.  I'm fairly certain the upgrade and server migration was done correctly.

Yes the problem is enrolling a new device.  I do not see Windows CE agents on the SOTI Downloads just IOS, Android, and Linux.

You click on your Windows CE Add-Devices Rule and select the "Device Agent Manager" in the pop-up menu.  Then click on the "New Agent" button at the bottom to add required device agent, and follow further instruction(s) shown to configure and build the agent.  You can find some screenshots I recently posted for another discussion at https://discussions.soti.net/thread/mcsetup-ini-file-windows-mobile-6-5/

Then you can click on the "Provision Device" button at the bottom of the Device Agent Manager  to choose between device agent installation methods  supported ,or downloading of mcsetup.ini file associated with the Add-Devices rule.
