Migrating SOTI MobiControl to Different Host/IP

Hello,

I've seen a few threads regarding this over the past few years but nothing very recent. Basically, we need to move our SOTI Mobicontrol installation from an aging server to a newer VM. We are currently running Version: 14.1.8.1064. We primarily use Android+ devices but also some Windows Desktop Classic devices. From documentation I've found online, I need to add in our new server as a secondary deployment server to SOTI's administration settings, which I've done. Once this propagates to our devices, we can switch to the new installation of SOTI.

Is this correct, and am I missing any steps?

Thank you!

If you do what you said, you are not doing a migration.  Not only do you need to request Soti support to reset your server license reg code before you can use it again to activate your second server, your currently enrolled devices might also need to be recalled and re-enrolled from scratch.  The latter depends on how your old server were configured and what device platforms/modes are currently being managed.

When you said adding a second server, did you mean you have an HA system with two deployment server now?  If you want to phase out an old server hardware and replace it with a newer and more powerful one, you don't need to add a second DS.  Just make sure the new server is configured to use the same network parameters as those in the replaced server.

We currently do not have a HA system, we only have one installation of SOTI on a VM machine. We just need to move our SOTI install to a different (newer) VM on the same physical host. The new SOTI install will of course have a new IP and hostname. So if I do a new install of SOTI to the new server, and then have the devices point to it, that should work correct?

Also, how would I transfer our configuration settings?
