Hello, we have to move a lot of devices from a old instance to a new instance. How is the process to move devices from the old instance to the new one without having to reset them?

We assume that the instances have been migrated successfully.

Thank you!

As far as i know this would be a topic for enterprise support and they could be able to do this but i think this includes entire system and i assume you mean from one (old) Soti instance to another (new) one and not from MDM X to Soti.

Hello Rafael, yes i mean from a old soti instance to another soti instance.

So i should open a case with Soti support...

If you have access to the devices, we used this as a way to touch every device.  So we did an OS Upgrade on the device on the old instance, and then did a factory reset and then enroll into new instance.  This was our way of doing it without involving Soti support/professional services.

I think you're going to have to have to touch every device. Assuming we are talking about Android Enterprise then it by design needs a Device Owner device policy controller like an EMM agent enabled from a Factory default state. This is core to the design of Device Owner over Device Administrator so I don't think you're going to find any tricks around it. This would apply to any migration between any EMMs for AE, not just SOTI to SOTI.

Hi Jose,

Thank you for posting on SOTI Pulse!

To migrate devices from one instance to another without resetting. I would like to suggest creating a support case with us and we can assist with getting in touch with professional services. Who can provide a discovery call for you to take a look into both your instances and provide options for a device migration.

Kind regards,
