With Apple ending support for macOS Server we intend to use Soti to manage all our apple devices but I have hit a wall We have around 400 devices that need to be enrolled in Soti. Doing it by hand is gonna take forever Does anyone know of a solution to automatically enroll these devices from Profile Manager to Soti? Keep in mind that I dont have these devices listed in Apple Business Manager because I havent bought them from licensed apple resellers
Hello, we have to move a lot of devices from a old instance to a new instance. How is the process to move devices from the old instance to the new one without having to reset them? We assume that the instances have been migrated successfully. Thank you!
Good morning all, I have a situation I'd like to understand how to solve. One of our customers is moving its devices from an old MobiControl instance to a new one. We couldn't opt for an upgrade of the old one for variuous reasons. Now he needs to move the devices and to do that we sent the mcsetup.ini file with the enrollment ID of the new instance to all the devices currently enrolled in the old one. With this, the customer can choose when to actually migrate them by simply unenrolling them from the old instance. The agent will look for the mcsetup.ini and then enroll the device again in the new instance. This is working, no fuss. The issue is on the applications which were installed from the managed Play Store: in the new instance we had to change the enterprise binding with a new Google account, which means when the devices enroll in the new instance they lose the old enterprise binding and acquire the new one. Even if I selected the exact same applications in the new App Policy, the apps are first uninstalled and then installed again. This is very problematic because the data of all apps are lost, which means the customer needs to configure again every app. Is this avoidable in some way? The goal would be to DO NOT uninstall the apps. Thank you
Hello community, Have someone of you ever seen this issue? We want to migrate this TC70 with android 8 from an MC v14.5 to the new v15.5 server. Both server are onPremise in an internal network.The devices doesn´t have a connection outside of the internal network. We try to migrate them just by unenrolling from the old server and enter the new Enrollment ID into the new one. We didn´t tried the Enrollment URL yet. Do you have any ideas what we can do? In our case is no opportunity to factory reset the devices and enrollment with StageNow or semthing. We have files which we want to keep alive on the devices.
Hello, everyone, In the factory that I work we have pending to carry out an update of a sw that uses the TC51 / 52 terminals that we have installed. And as a result of how the factory is distributed, the following problem arises, I have to generate a QR code that helps me create an example number: 3, and then from SOTI use a custom data that looks at that number to activate a relocation rule, but I totally don't know how this QR code can be created, I have tried StageNow but I can't. I don't know if anyone has had a similar situation or if they could give me any advice. I am new to this job and my knowledge of this world is limited. Thank you all very much in advance. I believe I know the answer to my question but if you dont ask... I may be inheriting some Android devices that are controlled by a different MDM provider and I would want to enrol them onto MobiControl as Android Enterprise Is there any way we can do this without wiping the devices and starting afresh?

Hello, we have a mobicontrol on version v 13.3.34 54 and of course we migrate (device are zebra TC75X android 7.1 Enroll type android +) We have made a backup of the database of mobicontrol install it on a new server. Actually, we made the upgrade on a test server with the version of mobicontrol 14.4.49 all port are open of course and 80% of my test are Ok. This is the good new :). But I don't know why but for some device ALWATS Zebra TC75X android 7.1 when i try to enroll it , i have an error message I type the URL or enrollmentId in the client of mobicontrol (zebra TC75X) and I have an standard error -> contact your admin system .. mobicontrol Client on device are on version 13 6 1476 In the log file of DSE I have this : [2020-09-10 11:00:06.311] ERROR [General] (20): Unable to locate device with id '100002119'. Hi everyone! I've encountered with a quiet strange behavior of Samsung devices. When I'm trying to migrate my enrolled in SOTI 13 Samsung device(Xcover4s) using script with few Writeprivateprofstring commands, after enrolling in SOTI 15, it wipes completely to factory defaults. My steps were: - In SOTI 15 SHA-1 is enabled for enrollment rule. - MobiControl agent is up to date. - SOTI 13 device profile is clean and with any rules or restrictions. Same in SOTI 15 - With Writeprivateprofstring I'm adding a certificate key, new deployment server, and device rule tag. - Restart agent and forcing to connect with Connect -f. How can I evade or disable wiping my device after enrolling? Thanks for your help
Hi all, I currently have a single MobiControl server hosting both the deployment and management services. Due to our security departments concerns, we have to disable TLS 1.0 and 1.1 in the near term. I tested this with our current environment, and although it seems that the web console works fine, all of our Windows Mobile devices were unable to connect once disabled. Re-enabling TLS 1.0 allowed the devices to reconnect. Soti support confirmed that older versions of WM may not support TLS 1.2. So, as a way around this, I need to separate out the deployment server and management server into 2 servers so I can have the web console on it's own instance with TLS 1.0/1.1 disabled, and then the deployment server for the device communication will have them enabled. I can then whitelist the firewall for TCP/5494 for only the source device IPs which we will always know to make our security team happy for that and also https will not have TLS 1.0 enabled. Is there a best path to make this happen? I know that multiple deployment servers can be used in an environment, so does it make sense to setup another server as a "failover" and then can have a way to migrate into that new server permanently? Or, can I just build a new deployment server, stop the services on server 1, start the services on server 2, and then make a firewall NAT change to send traffic from our current public IP (and same URL) to send TCP/5494 to the new server? Hello Everybody, We are running our MobiControl on a version14, and want to upgrade. This is currently not possible as we are on an old server and old ms sql database version. So what i need to do is move everything to a new server, Management, Deploy and Database. So my question is, how do i do this ? I have asked support, but they have no documentation nor provide support for this specific scenario. What i have tried. - Setup new server, install new ms sql database on the same server. - Backed up the database and moved to the new server. - Installed latest MobiControl Version software - Ran the "MobiControl Administration Utility" and changed the server name where i could see it needed. - - Tested all in "MobiControl Administration Utility" and everything is green. Now with in the newly install MobiControl the interface looks okay, BUT in the global settings it still shows the old deployment server and management server in the list.
