Hello community,

Have someone of you ever seen this issue?

We want to migrate this TC70 with android 8 from an MC v14.5 to the new v15.5 server.
Both server are onPremise in an internal network.
The devices doesn´t have a connection outside of the internal network.

We try to migrate them just by unenrolling from the old server and enter the new Enrollment ID into the new one.
We didn´t tried the Enrollment URL yet.
Do you have any ideas what we can do?
In our case is no opportunity to factory reset the devices and enrollment with StageNow or semthing.
We have files which we want to keep alive on the devices.

Hi,

with the new MobiControl version 15.5 they somehow added a new enrollment step.
It redirects you to an url where you have to tap on a button to continue the enrollment
process.

I was not able to avoid that step. Some of my devices are having trouble with that step
too. The agent crashes and i am back at the enrollment screen where i have to enter
my enrollment id.

I am not sure if this new step is supposed to happen or not. I don't want more steps
to enroll my devices. I hope this is just a bug which will get fixed with version 15.5.1

Hello Leon,

Thanks for your post!

Assuming the devices are enrolled as Android Enterprise Work managed being that they are Android 8

Could you confirm the agent version are you using?
If the agent is old, it may not comply with MC 15.5 and maybe updating the agent could help

How are you unenrolling the device? Is it through MC Web console or Device itself?
If you are unenrolling from MC Web console, Please check Attempt Revocation of Externally issued client certificate option.

I would also suggest you to try using URL instead of Enrollment ID. This may work.
If this resolves your query, please mark this post as the solution. Also, feel free to reach out if you need clarification or have any questions.

As Ozan states, Soti added an unnecessary step in the enrollment process in which the browser opens just to accept the enrollment. Perhaps in your old server you have blacklisted the default browser,(i.e. Chrome). So I would suggest to check Run Control configurations and remove the browser from any blacklist before unenrolling devices. Otherwise, install Chrome before unenroll.
