Hi Guys

Your DSE certificate for your server is expiring on 2/02/2021. Please use mobi admin utility to import or generate a new certificate.

Question -  Can I just log onto the MobiControl Admin utility and generate a new certificate. Some guidance would be appreciated.

Hi Vincent,

Thanks for posting in SOTI Central.

Steps to renew the DSE Certificate in the Mobicontrol Administration utility.

  • Launch Mobicontrol Administration utility. Select the " Certificates" screen. Select the Deployment Server & Web Console from the table.
  • Click on change.
  • Select the "New" Certificate  or click on "Generate" to Generate a new one.
  • Click on "Apply" to close the window. Click on "Apply" in Main MobiControl Administration Utility Window to apply these changes.
  • Both the deployment server and management service will be restarted.

***PS: In case you have IOS devices on your server, it is recommended to install the new  DSE certificate on your devices before applying the changes. This will prevent your devices from losing its connection to the server. ***

It is highly recommended to have SOTI Engineer make those changes as it could have adverse consequences on your instance if correct process would not be followed. Therefore, Please create a support case(click here) or call SOTI Support team(click here ) to assist you with Certificate renewal.

Hi Vincent,

If your DSE service is bind to a paid SSL certificate bought from a reputable CA vendor, you import your updated SSL certificate (in .pfx format) from the CA vendor rather than generating a new certificate with MCadmin as mentioned by RRMOD@SOTI.

In any case, as reconfiguring certificate inappropriately can have adverse effect related to controllability, I believe you should open an official support ticket with Soti to seek help specific to your case and requirements.
