What are the specific permissions to be able to revoke/install a profile?

I am looking for what permissions are required for a tech to be able to revoke/install a profile via MobiControl, but at the same time not be able to edit the existing profile. Is this possible?

If they need profile edit permissions to be able to revoke/install a profile, I will need to abandon this task.

Hi Kevin,

I think you can do that, but you need a role to do that, either a new role or you can adjust an existing one.

The role needs at least following permissions:

General Permission

- View Profiles

- View and Deploy Packages

Device Group Permission:

- Manage Devices

The role must be added to all packages and profiles you want the technician to see and to revoke /re-install.

Simply go to the package or profile and hit "edit permissions" and add your role as "read-only".

Depending on the number of packages and profiles this can be very time consuming.

I hope this will help.

Best regards

Börge

Hi Börge,
I think this really helps, I already had a role defined and the General Permissions correct. I added the Group Permission for Manage Devices and edited the permissions on the Profile I want them to be able to revoke/install.
Just need to confirm with one of them they can do want we want and I didn't give them too stuff to break something they weren't trained on.

Thanks for the help, will check back in after reviewing the changes with someone in that role.

Progress, but not exactly there.

The helpdesk folks can see the Profile in the Device's Configuration section now, but the option to revoke/install isn't there. No 3-dots, just the option to expand the profile.

I was getting no joy on the existing role and while trying different permissions my existing role I was using stopped letting me make changed. I kept getting an error that the permissions could not be saved
So I created a new role with your suggested permissions, and I have it working now!

Appreciate the help!
