File-Sync not starting anymore, after deleting the old folder in /sdcard/Android/data/-folder

Hello,

i have a file-sync rule implemented, that transfers data of a an APP and its APK-File to Zebra TC56-Devices with Android 8.

In general it works, cause i installed several handhelds this way: first transfer, then install of apk-file. No problem yet when having new installed devices.

Now i wanted to reinstall the app and uninstalled it. After that the Transfer should be startet again and so on...

But now the transfer is not getting started after deleting the folder in /sdcard/Android/data/*

Does anybody had the same issue and solved it?

I have the following options activated:

There is definitely no old data present, so the rule should see that "files are different" (in this case "not present", while present on server). I already tried it with "when source is newer", but that also fails.

Kind regards, Peter Petry/Germany

Is there any reason you are using File Syncs for this process versus Packages? Packages are a lot more robust in handling APK installations and you have more control over unassigning and reassigning with Profiles.

Yes there is the reason, that the Package-Manager cannot handle this large package-content >3GB! (4 folders of data)

It crashed every time i wanted to build the package.

So there is no other possibility than to do this file-sync. :-(

The 4 folders are needed as Map-Material for the navigation-app.

Have you ever successfully use sync rule with the current firmware version on Zebra TC56?  And have you done any tests with smaller files?

Check if the device path is correct on Zebra TC56.  If possible, try to use the %sdcard% macro as the prefix because different devices may mount the SD-card file-system at a slightly different path.  For some device firmware, the macro may reference flash memory area rather than external SD-card area.  The write permission of the folder specified should also be checked.
