Hi All, I have roughly 300 Zebra TC56 devices in the field that are using a particular APN for cellular connection. We need to move these devices to a new sim card which will use a different APN. The issue is when I put this sim card into a device the device will not select the new APN so the device has no data connection. The only way I can fix this is to manually change the default APN. These devices are spread all around the country so as you can imagine this is a big problem for us. We created a profile that pushes down the APN that is required however we are unable to activate this as the device would then go offline. These devices are fully locked down however I have tried testing with a device not enrolled and found the same issue. Run down on my testing; 1) I have taken a device out that is not enrolled in SOTI and put the old comms plan sim card in and that connected instantly to Telstra.wap as expected. 2) I switch off the device and place the new sim in (Telstra.internet) and boot the device. No connection. I check to see the device is still pointed to the Telstra.wap APN. 3) I then manually select Telstra.internet and that resolves the data connection problem but still needed a manual interaction to force it to the correct APN. Hello, i have a file-sync rule implemented, that transfers data of a an APP and its APK-File to Zebra TC56-Devices with Android 8. In general it works, cause i installed several handhelds this way: first transfer, then install of apk-file. No problem yet when having new installed devices. Now i wanted to reinstall the app and uninstalled it. After that the Transfer should be startet again and so on... But now the transfer is not getting started after deleting the folder in /sdcard/Android/data/* Does anybody had the same issue and solved it? I have the following options activated: There is definitely no old data present, so the rule should see that "files are different" (in this case "not present", while present on server). I already tried it with "when source is newer", but that also fails. Kind regards, Peter Petry/Germany
Good afternoon, Is it possible to push a change through SOTI Mobicontrol to Disable Animations in the Developer Options on the phone? We were investigating a couple different routes to improve the overall performance of our Zebra TC56s/TC57s when remoting into them. We found that when the animations were disabled, remoting into the devices tends to be a lot smoother of an experience. Our users work in environments where they have poor cellular signal. Thank you
Hi, I was able to update the device hostname via mxconfig filename.xml command. (details of xml file below). Assuming I have this file in all my TC56 devices, is there anyway I can pass the value of %MCDEVICENAME% into the xml file and replace "MyDevice" value? <wap-provisioningdoc> <characteristic type="HostsMgr"> <parm name="HostName" value="MyDevice"/> </characteristic></wap-provisioningdoc>
Hi, We have a customer that is using 200 Zebra TC56 devices but the memory on the devices is slowly filling up. I've had one of the devices sent back to me that is showing 7.69GB of 8.72GB is being used but when I look through the file manager I can only find a little over 5GB of files. Is there a report or another method that I can use to see where memory is being used and how much? Which folders/files and how much space is being used. Appreciate any help/advise you can offer!
We have recently had a TC56 returned from zebra with android 8.1.0 installed however after installing ZebraMobiControl1370_1031 we are presented with a device agent is incompatible with your device error and the device will not enroll into the server. The server is running version 13.3.0.3851 on this server. Is there a workaround for this? Regards
We are staging Zebra handhelds, model TC56 and TC25. With Android version 7.1.2. And for some strange reason, roughly about 5% of the handhelds loses the functionality of the home button on the display. (circle icon in the bottom of the handheld). "Back" button works though. We are not using kiosk mode/lockdown or any kind of software that limits the handheld. Has someone got any clues to what can cause this issue? edit 1: tried to send a stagenow config, that would enable the home button. <wap-provisioningdoc> <characteristic version="7.1" type="UiMgr"> <parm name="HomeKeyUsage" value="1" /> </characteristic></wap-provisioningdoc> Didn't work. /Martin Ekman
