5% of staged devices loses home button functionality

We are staging Zebra handhelds, model TC56 and TC25. With Android version 7.1.2. And for some strange reason, roughly about 5% of the handhelds loses the functionality of the home button on the display. (circle icon in the bottom of the handheld). "Back" button works though.

We are not using kiosk mode/lockdown or any kind of software that limits the handheld.

Has someone got any clues to what can cause this issue?

edit 1:

tried to send a stagenow config, that would enable the home button.

<characteristic version="7.1" type="UiMgr">
<parm name="HomeKeyUsage" value="1" />
</characteristic>

Didn't work.

Just to let you know I noticed this too with the same device. I ran into a device that exhibied this, I didn't try to dig more about this, but it's definitely happening.

I have seen this also recently for 2 of our customers, the devices in question are TC70X and TC75X devices, both of which are on Nougat GMS. There was a release of Lifeguard last week where, although not stated in the release notes for lifeguard 17, a Zebra representative today advised that this should fix the issue. I applied this remotely via SOTI today to 6 devices where 3 of these devices had the none responsive home button, all of these are now resolved by the lifeguard release

Hey Richard!

Thank's for taking the time to respond.

I tried to use this solution, but unfortunally it didn't work for me.
