New Sub-Groups in SOTI MobiControl Not Automatically Selected in SOTI XSight Analysis Profile

This article addresses an issue where newly added sub-groups in SOTI MobiControl are not inherited under the SOTI XSight analysis profile, even though the main group from SOTI MobiControl is already selected.

When a customer creates new sub-groups in SOTI MobiControl, they expect the devices enrolled in these sub-groups to automatically receive the SOTI XSight analysis profile. However, since the newly added groups in SOTI MobiControl are not automatically selected under the analysis profile in the SOTI XSight web console, the SOTI XSight Agent installed on these devices will not receive the analysis profile.

Example:
A new sub-group "Store 003" is created in SOTI MobiControl. After a regular sync between SOTI MobiControl and SOTI XSight, the new sub-group is visible under the assignment tab in the analysis profile.

However, the new sub-group is not automatically selected and this is an expected behavior for all versions of SOTI XSight 2025.0.0 and earlier. 

To select the newly added sub group in the existing analysis profile, follow these steps:

1. Open the Profiles dropdown under "Operational Intelligence" menu in the SOTI XSight web console.
2. Edit the desired active profile by selecting the three dots next to the profile name.

3. Navigate to the "Assignment" tab and select the newly added sub-group.

Once the workaround is applied, the SOTI XSight Agent on devices in the newly added sub-group receives the SOTI XSight analysis profile. To confirm this, open the SOTI XSight Agent on the device and check for the name of the analysis profile.
