Issue Description
When using a Wi-Fi profile alongside Settings Manager on Android Classic devices, an issue arises upon device reboot. The Settings Manager fails to recognize a backup network as a saved network with a valid password, leading to credential prompts. Despite the network being saved in Android settings, it is not recognized by the Settings Manager.
Environment
- Settings Manager Version: 2024.1.1 or below
- Devices: Tested on Samsung and Motorola
- Condition: The problem appears when the device is rebooted.
Symptoms
- Attempting to connect to a secondary network deployed via a Wi-Fi profile results in the Settings Manager not recognizing it as a saved network after device reboot.
- Connecting to the Wi-Fi network through Android Settings works correctly, but not through Settings Manager.
- The user may be prompted for security credentials that do not match the Wi-Fi protocol (for example: incorrectly assigning user and password for non-enterprise Wi-Fi).
Prevention
To prevent this issue, ensure that the Settings Manager version is upgraded to 2024.1.2 or above before deploying Wi-Fi profiles.
Issue Resolution
Upgrade the Settings Manager version to 2024.1.2 or above. For release notes and updates, please visit Settings Manager Release Notes.
