Issue Description

While trying to enroll iOS devices, the following error is generated: 

The SOTI Enrollment page displaying the error "Safari could not install a profile due to an unknown error."

Environment

iOS version: 17.3 and above

SOTI MobiControl version: 2024.1.0

Cause

After Stolen Device Protection has been enabled, some features and actions will have additional security requirements when your iPhone is away from familiar locations. These settings conflict with SOTI MobiControl enrollment and causes the error.

Issue Resolution

1. Navigate to Settings then do one of the following:

  • On an iPhone with Face ID: tap Face ID & Passcode then enter your passcode.
  • On an iPhone with a Home button: tap Touch ID & Passcode then enter your passcode.

2. Scroll down and tap Stolen Device Protection.

Note: If you do not see Stolen Device Protection, you may need to set up Face ID or Touch ID first.

3. Turn Off Stolen Device Protection.

4. Wait for an hour and then retry enrollment for the device.
