Usually when installing apps from package or App Catalog, it grants automatically all permissions requested by the app. In Android 11 it does not grant MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE. It is possible to grant the permission by afw_set_permission_grant_state app.name android.permission.MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE allow It means by a package it flows fine, by adding a post-script. Is there a way to do it by app catalog, or get a kind of trigger to start a script when the app is installed ? My workaround is to create a schedule task running periodically with the afw_set_permission script.
Hello, my advanced mobicontrol search stopped to work (after some update from our enviroment - I guess that JAVA). I strongly dont want to reinstall whole enviroment. Hey there! I'm trying to integrate MobiControl with ServiceNow. To achieve this I'm trying to get the access token in Servicenow using token POST api. But I'm not able to make successful connection and get the Access Token. I guess I'm making the below mistakes 1. Not converting the Client ID and Client secret to correct RFC2045 MIME Base64 - How do we do this? I'm using notepad++ MIME Tools to convert. Is this correct? or am I doing it wrong? 2. Hi guys! Not a big problem, but more of a question why. When I am in the devices overview: Sorting on for example "Agent connect time" works as intended, but if I try to sort on for example "Mac Address" the devices in the overview disapears, and is gone until the sorting is removed. Trying to do this sorting gives the following: "Device information could not be retrieved. The MobiControl Search service is not responding." While if I try to search for that Mac address should contain "xyz.." this will give a proper result. What are the differences between sorting and actual searching? Also if I try to export .csv this is empty, which I guess is some of the same reason that sorting is giving a problem. Br.Anders KvisvikFARA
Hi, We would like to change our MC server (v14.4.9.1034) and plan to backup / restore the MobiControl database on a new machine (same MC version). Could you please tell me where are the certificates stored on the server or how to export them from the Administration Utility? Do we have to open each certificate and export it? Thank you in advance
Hi everyone, I enrolled some ITOS devices (ic-40, ic40g and ic45g) on mobicontrol and there's no way to work. The enrollment was fine but the devices get frozen very often and in some cases battery has to be removed. I usually get the sms log: Error sending message (Error sending message (type=22), General communication error). We're using the agent ItosMobiControl1300. Any tips? Thanks in advance.
Is there a possibility to set a file as a ringtone via script correctly? I used following (just as an example test): writesecuresetting -sys ringtone content://sdcard/dingdong.mp3 But for example following does: writesecuresetting -sys notification_sound content://media/internal/audio/media/42 Do i have to change something before i can use this file or should it be in a different format/ folder etc.?
Hi, is there anyway to enable Samsung Smart Switch on Android Enterprise Devices? We've been trying to enable Samsung Smart Switch but until now we haven't been able to do it.In our company we have two types of devices, ELM and Android Enterprise DO, and all of them are enrolled in Samsung Knox and managed from Soti Mobicontrol. In our ELM devices we've been able to enable the usage of Smart Switch, but we haven't been able to enable it on our Android Enterprise devices. We've tried to create a series of testing profiles to see if we could manage to, but still no progress has been made. We tried every option available in the "Feature controls" tab,but none of them seem to be able to enable Smart Switch. It always shows the following message: "Security Policy restricts the use of Smart Switch". Looking around the internet, we've found information which explains that because security policy in AE DO, every feature related to security backups are disabled by default. Nontheless, there's a way to get around the problem in Knox Manage to allow it. This makes us wonder if there's any possibility of enabling this feature in Soti Mobicontrol. Our Deployment Server Version is 15.1.0.3416. Hello everyone, Back in the days when we used MC Studio to upload APK, we have option to prevent user uninstall the APK, but now since we can straight upload APK to Mobicontrol, i can't find that option anymore. Hi, one of our clients has a use case where they want to enroll their devices into MobiControl, but they also want to use an app which allows them to upload pictures to a shared Google account. This app requires that it uses the currently logged in Google Account, but now that we've enrolled the devices, they can no longer do this. Is there any workaround for this? Regards, Daníel

Hi, I am trying to use the GET /devices/search endpoint. Does anyone know the syntax for the filter params and the key name for "Hardware Serial Number" ? The API doc also mentions that "=" are also retired from mobicontrol v 15. Hello everybody, I wanted to make the following query about the Android update system through SOTI. We are implementing a system, in which, during several days of the week, the update file would be copied to the various terminals, and on a different day the update would be installed. The problem is, that during the tests we had a mishap, according to the logs of the SOTI rule that is responsible for copying the files to the terminals, this file had been copied correctly in all the terminals, but on the day of execution, We checked that only a certain number of them had been updated, we checked the terminals and to our surprise, they did not have the update file copied but in the rule logs it appeared the opposite. At this point, I thought about using an .xml file to create a custom data, so that it would be downloaded together with the update file, but when redirecting the custom data to the xml information, it did not detect it and in SOTI The field does not appear, the name of the custom data does appear but without information. Has something similar happened to someone else? What update systems do you have implemented for android terminals? Do you have any ideas or suggestions about how I could solve the custom data problem, or any improvement for the update system? My SOTI version is: 14.1.5.1284 and the terminals are mostly TC52 and WT6000. Thank you very much to all.
