We've been having trouble in recent weeks with enrolling new devices into Android Enterprise as a work managed device. From a factory restore state, using afw#mobicontrol, the device will enroll as AE Work Profile. We never used to have this issue, afw#mobicontrol would enroll the device as AE work managed device. The closest we've been able to get is using the Stage Programmer app and a QR code to enroll the device in MobiControl. Using this method, it will enroll as AE work managed device. However, while our profiles and packages will apply, the app catalog rules will not. We have several apps that are set as mandatory that will not automatically download. I've tried downloading manually through the MobiControl App Catalog but when I tap to install it takes me to the Play store and says that my administrator has not given you access to this item. We've done a lot of testing with our device vendor. We've tried different versions of the web console and different android OS versions. All our devices are 7.1.2 and we attempted enrolling an android 6 device with afw#mobicontrol and got the same results. Throughout our testing, the only thing we have not been able to change is the MobiControl agent version (13.6.0.1567) since that is controlled by MobiControl's deployment server. Our last deployment of devices all used agent 13.5 with no problem. This time around, with agent 13.6, we are having problems. Has anyone else experienced problems like this? Being unable to use afw#mobicontrol to enroll into AE work managed device. Or, having issue with mandatory apps not downloading to a device once we do get it enrolled as a work managed device using the stage programmer app?
I'm fairly certain I already know the answer (no) but is there any way to bind a Managed Enterprise and utilize AEDO management in an On Premise SOTI instance if the SOTI server has no external network access?
I have been looking for a way to track when user's reboot devices. It doesn't appear that Mobicontrol has this ability, but I wanted to ask here in case someone has come across a solution.
Hi, With the introduction of the new managed google play update configuration in 14.2.1. Does anyone know how it's possible to trigger an app update on a device, if it's been marked as 'never update'. I need to be able to check an update before rolling it out to the entire fleet and am trying to figure out the best way to control this. Once this is done, is there a script or something I can send which will trigger the devices to update apps from the playstore? Thanks for your help
1. mobicontrol version 14.22. Android Enterprise Work Managed DevicesInquiry:When choosing Update over Wifi only on MGPA profile option, does it include google related updates such as Google Services, Google play, etc.?
Hi Do SOTI intend to include the functionality to kill a running application and also do a wipe application data on a Android Enterprise DO enrolled device?
Hi! We need a way of changing the Managed Google Play account after a device has been enrolled. This is specifically needed when migrating devices between environments since one Managed Google Play account can only be active for one environment. Do you have a solution for this?
Hi I am trying to factory reset an Android 8 device (2 actually - a Samsung XCover4 and a Samsung Tab Active 2) which previously had email accounts on them. After the factory reset it wants us to put in the previous user's email when I would normally enter afw#mobicontrol. As a result we cannot re-enrol the device back onto MobiControl How do we force a reset so is does not need the previous user's email account? Thanks Eddie
Hi, I'd like to blacklist some applications on my Android Enterprises devices. I cannot find the option to do it via a profile (like Application Run Control for Android+). Can you help me out, please? Cheers, Michal
Hi, We want to be able to erase browser(surf) stored data, from a share devices locked down in KIOSK mode(see screenshot). Specifically the user needs to be able to trigger a 'logout' after end of shift. Devices are enrolled via Android Enterprise(Device Owner). Solution #1:Deploy a script file and run from lockdown with scriptcommand. wipeapplication or kill_application. However both script commands appear unsupported(log displays script command as unsupported). Solution #2:Invoke an action in lockdown items. action://clear_cache...etc. However this only seems to support configuring wifi/pw change: https://discussions.soti.net/thread/are-they-any-other-mobicontrol-actions-possible-to-be-used-from-the-kiosk-mode-lockdown/ How do I go about this?
Does Android 9 officially supported ? I'm mostly interested in Android Enterprise (Manged Device) solution. What features are supported ?
Hi, I've discovered recently that wipeapplication command is not supported by Android Enterprise. Question: I have multiple applications installed and want to clear user data for a particular app (that's why full device wipe is not an option). Maybe there are some other options? P.S. Sadly documentation doesn't note that wipeapplication is not supported https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v14.2/en/scriptcmds/gsrindex.html?gsrid=reference/androidplus.html
Hi All, exists a workaround to install a new APN on AE DO device? Via profile is only available for Android+. Thank you, Filippo
Devices: TC25 Zebra
By default, lockscreen is enabled on TC25 devices. We dont want to manually disable it one by one. Is there a way from SOTI Mobicontrol to disable lockscreen remotely?
