How to disable lockscreen of Zebra TC25 from SOTI Mobicontrol?

By default, lockscreen is enabled on TC25 devices.  We dont want to manually disable it one by one. Is there a way from SOTI Mobicontrol to disable lockscreen remotely?

Hi Benedict,

Just to clarify, you are referring to the device lockscreen and not the MobiControl lockdown.

If I am right in my assumption that you are referring to the lockscreen of the device, you can send a "disable passcode lock" device action from the web console that will remove any lockscreen PIN/Password on the device and will change the screen lock type to "swipe". This device action is primarily used when an end-user has forgotten their PIN/Password or when a MobiControl Administrator requires access to the device.

It is not possible to "disable" the lockscreen through MobiControl as you should always have some sort of PIN/Password/Pattern to lock your device to prevent unwanted access to your devices information.

But why it will change only to swipe? is there a way to disable also swipe? i dont think any use case of having a lockscreen on a device given it's already on lockdown mode.

Hi Benedict,

i dont know what android version you use, but Zebra StageNow support that feature from Android 6. We had the same issue with our MC18 on Android 5. Zebra gave us a special apk exactly for that problem.

Ask your Zebra (Pre)Sales for the apk, maybe it is the same for both model.

You can use Stagenow or EMDK profile manager to generate a xml file that will do what you want in DevAdmin/Screen lock type : http://techdocs.zebra.com/emdk-for-android/7-0/mx/devadmin/#screen-lock-type

Then use a file sync rule + script or a package containing both to push the configuration to the devices.

You can copy paste the examples at the bottom of the page and change their settings to what you want, this formating is directly usable by mobicontrol with the mxconfig script.

Note that the MX functionality will be supported in SOTI with Zebra Android devices managed under DO and DA only through Android O. If and when you upgrade your TC25s to Android P you will need to adjust your MX distribution strategy to OEMConfig based ZMC.

I don't know if this will work for you.

I send a script from Soti Mobicontrol to my android+ devices:

Notify kiosk on   --> this one is for actívate the kiosk mode

Notify kiosk off --> this one is for desable the kiosk mode
