In MobiControl (Version 15.2.0) I wanted to change the Application Run Control (Android Enterprise) in an existing Profile. Adding a blacklist works fine, but not deselecting. This has no effect on the device (Zebra TC57), even after a reboot. How can I achieve that an application is not on a blacklist at the device anymore? Doing a factory reset is not an option (but works).
Hi, We are using SOTI v13.4.0.5276 on production and SOTI v15.1.0.3416 on our testenvironment (issue is present on both environments) Created a package with com.microsoft.teams_1416_1.0.0.2020111001.apk (we use this method also for many other .apk) Our devices (approx.1500) have a lockdown screen, no access tot Google Play Store and the end-user no access to the device settings. Devices are Panasonic FZ-AZ (Android 6.0.1) On devices with the lockdown screen temporary lifted installation seems to go, but on other devices: SOTI states 'installed' but the app is actually not installated. During installation we don't get any indication on what is going wrong. Any ideas/suggestions how to resolve/debug this ? Regards, Dirk
I've been trying to get some apps to deploy via the managed play store, however I'm struggling to get it to work. Under servers I've setup "Android Enterprise Bindings" which goes though into what appears to be the google console and all seems good. I've uploaded my own app and also approved an in store app. However in the mobicontrol app neither show in the app catalog. I've also checked the google play app thinking i might see a work profile / managed app store however no luck :-( I'm probably missing something really simple?
Hi All im hoping someone may be able to help with the below We Had an issue recently whereby the CA Enrollment certificate had expired without anyone noticing. the certificate was replaced successfully but I would like to be made aware when this cert is due to expire again.the certificate does not seem to exist within the certificate store on the Soti Deployment or management server and is also not mentioned within the administration Utility under certificates (the others are) Can anyone enlighten me as to where I might be able to see this certificate or at least some of its properties?, I also reviewed the logs for an indicator that this problem was apparent but there was nothing seemingly pertinent to an expired certificate Any Help would be much appreciated Kind Regards Richard
Hello, We are using Zebra ET51 GMS tablets on Android 8.1. Running Soti Mobicontrol Cloud. Our team will be downloading PDFs and JPGs from a web portal through Soti Surf. They need to be able to open these downloaded documents, modify and then upload back to the website portal. These devices are configured for Kiosk Mode using the device control options. I am able to add "Downloads" (com.android.providers.downloads.ui) or Download Manager (com.android.providers.downloads) to the Kiosk screen, but am unable to open any of those 2 directories. I've tried Launch://, File://, Folder://, Activity://, and still no luck. Is this something that is possible? Is this the best way to go about it also? We don't want them having access to the root directories or any other folders besides Downloads. Our Soti Mobicontrol is cloud hosted, so I am not sure if Soti Hub or Content Library would work since these devices don't authenticate to our environment. Any ideas on how I can get this to work? Thank you!
Zebra TC21 - Android 10 - Android Enterprise I have my device in lockdown mode with my company's custom app as the only app running. I enabled the notification bar to be accessed while in lockdown mode. My issue is when I open the setting and notification bar from the top to change the current wireless network to another network. I press and hold the Wi-Fi button to open up the list of available networks, the window with the list will open from the right side of the screen and then go disappear to the left. It doesn't stay for enough time to choose another network. I have Zebra TC57s that will work just fine when wanting to switch networks in lockdown mode. Those are running Android 8.

Hi We have been using "Is Charging = TRUE" filter for a month now to make OS updates on our Zebra TC56 and TC57. But now, for som reason that Filter does not work anymore. I have several devices I know are in charger, but when making a manual filter search, non comes up. We are running Version: 15.1.2.1035
Hi I have an issue with saving lockdown. When I save and assign lockdown, I have no changes after that. HTML code is in former version before save. I suppose that I don't see changes when I add code(new lines) do templates. When I change existing code(existing lines) - lockdown is saving correctly. Version: 15.2.4.1138
Just got a new server build with Windows Server 2016 and trying to install Soti Mobicontrol. But get .NET Core error even thus is has been installed. any idea how to fix this?
Hello, Has anyone had any luck downloading the Android Debug logs from the log tab on a given device? When ever I send the command I receive no response for 1 minute, then the zip file is created and downloaded but is always only 86 bytes and invalid. The logs show the following: Action sent (Get Device Android debug Logs) Action sent (Device Android debug logs download request failed: Error retrieving agent log. Server reported error: The operation has timed out.) Error receiving file (Error receiving file "%logpath%\bugreport.log.zip", Timed out waiting for response) We manage a number of servers on varying versions of mobicontrol with the same result. The instance in question is the following: Mobicontrol Version: 15.2.0.4819 Agent Versions: 14.4.2.1039 Enrollment Type: Android Enterprise / Fully Managed Device Types: MC9300 (Android 8) , TC52 (Android 10), CK65 (Android 9) Hoping someone has experienced this and has a solution or insight as to what the issue may be. Thanks, Shawn
i'm using soti server v15 and have gotten the .zip file to download to the mc9300 devicebut when running the script it doesn't seem to do anythingI believe to do the upgrade from Android 8.1 I need to upgrade using the Full update first which is:I downloaded the file and then created the file sync rule which copied the file to my devicebut when the script ran it didn't do anythingsendintent -b "intent:#Intent;action=com.symbol.intent.action.UPDATE_PACKAGE;S.file=/sdcard/HE_FULL_UPDATE_10-16-10.00-QG-U00-STD-HEL-04;end"I can also remote to the device and click on the shell and run the script and all it says is OK Am I using the correct file? I'm assuming one upgrades with the full and then the patch
Hi, I've got a device which is in Lockdown, but it also needs access to the camera. Currently, the camera isn't working. First I tried issuing the following script command: enable_system_app com.sec.android.app.camera Then I tried to take the steps shown here: https://discussions.soti.net/thread/enable-built-in-camera-within-kiosk-mode/ and I've also ensured that "Lockdown type" is not set to "Activity suppression". However, this doesn't work. Also, if I enable the camera option in the lockdown screen and click the camera, I get a "package not found" message. Furthermore, the log will get a new entry with the following text: Error message received from device (Package [com.sec.android.app.camera] does not contain default activity) Any idea what could be the culprit? Regards, Daníel
In Soti MC Android Javascript, I’d like to check the device Build number. Is it possible?(mobicontrol.os.version only returns the OS version but I need whole Build Number string)
Hi All, So I'm looking at moving MobiControl into my originations AWS cloud. My device count is too big for using SQL express, we keep hitting the max DB size and memory limits of SQL express. If following the Soti Sys requirements guide, it would seem that SQL Standard is the preferred database engine to migrate to. SQL Std is quite a large investment, especially as this would not be a shared DB instance for other applications. So my question is, can we use SQL Web edition to host the SOTI database? It has the larger memory, CPU and size limits that I'm looking for, but at half the monthly licensing cost in AWS. Can anyone confirm that they have tried this and that it is Kosher, both with SOTI support and with MS licensing? Thanks Dan
