Hello, I am configuring some samsung tab A tablets for use as kiosks. (The kiosks are running in Single App mode). Is it possible to Disable screen lock and timeout in lockdown mode and keep the tablets on at all time? I have been searching but there is no obvious solution/option. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi Team, First time poster here, although I've been floating around the forums benefiting from the shared wisdom posted here for the last few months. I've run into a dead end with this particular issue, and i'm hoping i can get some advice on how to proceed. We've run into an issue recently that seems to only affect Android 9 devices on the Android Enterprise configuration. The lock screen (when you first unlock the phone before swiping to unlock, or entering a PIN etc) doesn't seem to display notifications of any kind We've noticed that when the device is in lockdown mode, we can't see any notifications at all on the lock screen, in fact in order to see the notifications, we need to enter administrator mode, or send the "lockdown off" script via MobiControl. Some of our sites rely on system-generated messages sent to mobiles to give the staff instructions on where to check, and which routes to take etc. When i take a look into the settings of the device, i can see that under the lock screen portion, the Notifications button is set to disabled, and is greyed out i.e. cannot be adjusted. Again, as this only affects Android 9 devices on Android Enterprise, i'm baffled at what i can do to resolve this. ! Some points on our configuration ! #: Lockdown config: Activity Suppression enabled. Disable Status Bar Expansion Enabled. Using Device Control. #: Feature Control: Redact Notifications is not ticked. Disable all notifications is not ticked. Disable all system UI is ticked, although this didn't seem to have any effect on this problem either way. #: We use the MobiControl Stage Programmer app with NFC for smartphones, and the QR Code for tablets. #: Android Plus covers 80% of our fleet, with 20% of Enterprise devices distributed in the last 3 months. #: I've configured the devices to land in a blank folder with no payloads, and once they are enrolled and ready, i'll manually drag the device into a folder with a profile targeted to said folder, which will push the profile/payloads. #: We use the J5 Pro (Android 8.1), Galaxy A20 (9.0) and the Galaxy Tab a 2017 (8.1). If the guard misses a message, this can be a massive compliance issue, so unless the guard keeps their device open on the SMS app, there's a good chance they'll miss it. Has anyone else run into this issue before? Any assistance of advice provided would be sincerely appreciated. Thanking you in advance, Joell
Good Afternoon! I used to use the following script to set the screen time out on our android + devices however this doesn't appear to be working for Android 9.0. Does anyone know if the syntax has changed? I've tried both of the following: Writesecureprofstring –sys screen_off_timeout 600000 writesecuresetting –sys screen_off_timeout 600000 From what I can tell this should still work.. when I do Watchsetting On I get the following log when I manually change the setting: Custom log (URI:content://settings/system SETTING:screen_off_timeout VALUE:600000) Cheers, Johnathon
Hi, is there any way to change the user mode when I am in Mobicontrol App (Deviceconfiguration) or to switch into the lockscreen via remote? Device: Zebra TC51 Android+ (Android 7.1.1) We have sometimes the problem that the device starts up and doesn't switch into Lockscreen but changes the user mode to "User". So i didn't found a way to get to the lockscreen. The device is visible in Mobicontrol and can be remote controlled. The only solution for now is to factory reset the device and stage it again but this takes relative long time and i am looking for a smarter solution if possible.
Hi I've been asked about setting the lock screen on our Samsung XCover 4 devices to show an "if found please contact..." message. There was a question a few months back but that related to Android+ ( https://discossions.soti.net/thread/push-wallpaper-to-zebra-tc75-devices-android-enterprise/ ) and was using writeprivateprofstring which is no longer supported. Is there another way I can either change the lockscreen background or update the Owner Information text (found in Settings menu on device and I could enter relevant contact details)
Hi We have created a lockscreen for use with a Samsung Xcover 4, and was wondering if there is a way to add an option to go directly to the bluetooth settings. so that the user can safely pair the device with their vehicle. I know i can link to launch://com.android.settings but would rather not give the user access to the main settings option. Thanks
I have created a Lockdown screen for Android, but i am unable to get the phone app working; i have tried setting it to Launch various phone apps com.android.server.telecom, com.samsung.android.incallui, com.android.phone but i always get the package unavailable message; if you go via the contacts however you can dial out and you can also dial out via bluetooth and the phone will still receive incoming calls. I'm running Mobicontrol 14.0, and the phone is Samsung SM-A520F Android 8.0 with agent version 13.5.0 build 1327 (ELM)
