Hello, the SotiServer is running on a WinServer 2012R2 we are planning to upgrade to WinServ2016.  We do have a sql server 2016 but only Version 13.0.1742.0 no Service Pack 2 installed right know.  We also have an on premise SotiServer Version: 14.2.1.4394 we plan a upgrade to Version 15.1.3.  15.1.X Recommended specs:  Component Recommended Level for 15.1 Software Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Microsoft SQL Server 2016 (Service Pack 2 Cumulative Update 1) Microsoft SQL Server 2017 So we could upgrade our SQL Server to SP2.     But would the 15.1.3 SotiServer Version also run with SQL Version 13.0.1742?    What is best practice here?        Update Windows Server to 2016     Update SQL Server Update SotiMobicontrol Server We would like to know what you would suggest. Questions / Problems after upgrate to new MobiControl version Solved Locked

Hi guys, do you know if the version 15.1.2 is running on Windows Server 2019? In the documentation only Windows Server 2016 is mentioned. I wasn't able to get a test installation on a Windows Server 2019, but I'll do that in the future. But maybe someone of you already tried that. The more important part: We encountered some problems after the upgrade from version 14.4.9 to 15.1.0. I hope you have some ideas. The first one isn't that bad, but I find it quite interesting. And maybe the second problem does have the same issue. After the upgrade, the login with the local admin account wasn't possible anymore. I loged in with my AD admin account, the local admin account wasn't locked or inactive. We fixed the issue by resetting the password, after that, login was fine. Did you encounter the same problems after an upgrade? The second issue is with the Android Enterprise bindings.  After the upgrade we enrolled one device as Work Managed device with Zero Touch. We used Zebra TC56 and TC57 as testing devices. After connection the device to a WLAN, Zero Touch started. The Soti Enterprise agent got installed, but the device didn't get enrolled automatically. After opening the agent, we had to enter the Enrollment ID manually. After doing that, the device connected to our server, the device got created and is visible in the web console.  The problem is the device agent is stuck in the step to get a Google Account. On the server we got the error message: Error message received from device (Managed Google Play Account Status:'EMPTY_TOKEN Got response but there was no token!') In the verbose logs there is this: But the Enterprise binding is present on the server: In our add device rules we are using the BMW Group binding. My first test was to create a new binding, the BMW MDMI and use this binding in a new add device rule to get a new Enrollment ID. So we enrolled a second device and entered the new Enrollment ID manually and the whole process was running without the binding error.  Did you encounter some of these problems too after the upgrade or do you have an idea what happend there? Thanks a lot for your help and best regards Stefan

How can i migrate MobiControl to a new server.

Hello Everybody, We are running our MobiControl on a version14, and want to upgrade.  This is currently not possible as we are on an old server and old ms sql database version. So what i need to do is move everything to a new server, Management, Deploy and Database. So my question is, how do i do this ?  I have asked support, but they have no documentation nor provide support for this specific scenario.  What i have tried.  - Setup new server, install new ms sql database on the same server. - Backed up the database and moved to the new server.  - Installed latest MobiControl Version software - Ran the "MobiControl Administration Utility" and changed the server name where i could see it needed. - - Tested all in "MobiControl Administration Utility" and everything is green. Now with in the newly install MobiControl the interface looks okay, BUT in the global settings it still shows the old deployment server and management server in the list.  And browsing the next generation console interface in my device groups none of the chart or working/filling out and i get javascript errors. with "GET https://soti2.bygma.dk/MobiControl/WebConsole/api/devices/search?groupPath=%255C%255C1%2520-%2520Drift%255CDatalogic%2520Skorpio&includeSubgroups=true&verifyAndSync=true&order=%2BLastAgentConnectTime%2C&skip=0&take=50 422scheduleTask @ polyfills.68e3111c0762e8cc8d50.js:83ZoneDelegate.scheduleTask @ polyfills.68e3111c0762e8cc8d50.js:8onScheduleTask @ polyfills.68e3111c0762e8cc8d50.js:8ZoneDelegate.scheduleTask @ polyfills.68e3111c0762e8cc8d50.js:8Zone.scheduleTask @ polyfills.68e3111c0762e8cc8d50.js:8Zone.scheduleMacroTask @ polyfills.68e3111c0762e8cc8d50.js:8scheduleMacroTaskWithCurrentZone @ polyfills.68e3111c0762e8cc8d50.js:16(anonymous) @ polyfills.68e3111c0762e8cc8d50.js:83i.<computed> @ polyfills.68e3111c0762e8cc8d50.js:16(anonymous) @ portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1304Observable._trySubscribe @ portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1282Observable.subscribe @ portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1282....Show 102+ more framesportal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:487 ERROR TypeError: e.cause.json is not a function at SafeSubscriber._error (portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1239) at SafeSubscriber.__tryOrUnsub (portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1282) at SafeSubscriber.error (portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1282) at Subscriber._error (portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1282) at Subscriber.error (portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1282) at TakeUntilSubscriber.Subscriber._error (portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1282) at TakeUntilSubscriber.Subscriber.error (portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1282) at MapSubscriber.Subscriber._error (portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1282) at MapSubscriber.Subscriber.error (portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1282) at CatchSubscriber.OuterSubscriber.notifyError (portal.f4a2d3723db924ac34fb.js:1393)" Are there any references in the database or any correct way of migrating and upgrading that you know of ?  Thanks Guys. :)

How to auto upgrade private Google Play app?

So I can't figure out how to get our app to auto upgrade on kiosk devices. I've got a Google Play store page set up for a private app, and I'm able to issue upgrades through the play store page. Next, I have to go into the mobicontrol cloud and update the application catalog, which isn't ideal, but whatever, I can deal with that, but after updating the application catalog, none of our devices will download the upgrade. The only way I've been able to get devices to upgrade is to remote control into the device in Admin mode, go into the application catalog in the DPC and upgrade the app. Moreover, there seems to be a bug with this scenario because after I upgrade the app with these steps, when I go to set the device back into User mode, the app will be uninstalled! I then have to re-install the latest app and then I will be able to set the device back into User mode. I've asked a sales engineer that has been helping me out some, but he's not very responsive and hasn't provided any information on how to get the app to auto upgrade. There was a Droidcon Berlin talk just last week I think about setting devices up in kiosk mode and through their own setup they were able to get apps to auto upgrade, plsu they were also able to use the test tracks in the Google Play Store. I've been trying to use the test tracks of the private google play store app for a while but Soti doesn't have any information about that either, and that probably deserves another question, but I know it's doable and getting the app to upgrade should also be possible. Is it possible to get these private apps to auto upgrade without having to log into each one and manually doing it? Thanks,

Update apps automatically on Android+ devices and MobiControl upgrades

This post has three main questions. First, I would like to be able to install/update apps automatically on Android+ devices. The majority of these apps are available on the play store. I created an application catalog rule and added apps from both the managed Google Play account and the normal Google Play apps. Google Play store apps are showing on the device, but the managed Google Play apps are not. These are COPE devices so we don't want to use the regular Google Play store method since the users will be able to install any apps they want.  Second question involves upgrading MobiControl. Since it's on the cloud I know I'm supposed to contact support and I have done that last Wednesday I think, but still didn't get a reply. But I need more information about the process before starting since it's my first time. Do I have to specify which version I want to upgrade to or do they always upgrade to the latest version? How long does the upgrade take? Is there any downtime or lost data to worry about? Can I take a backup? How will users be affected by the upgrade? Lastly, does Soti MobiControl require some form of root access to the device? I think I know the answer to this but my manager asked me so I figured I'd ask on here. The reason being is I was testing the Android Enterprise agent on one of the test devices and it wouldn't complete the configuration because I kept getting a "custom OS" error. I looked into it and found posts on here saying it's got to do with the device being rooted at some point in time. I dug deeper and read about Samsung's Knox warranty bit which is like a switch that once triggered cannot be switched off. Samsung's official solution is to replace the motherboard which is expensive and frankly environmentally irresponsible, but that's not the issue here. I discovered that our other test device also had this Knox warranty bit triggered and so far, every device I checked has it triggered which means I cannot install the Android Enterprise agent on any of them. So I'm just trying to rule out the possibility that it was caused by MobiControl. Current system info that might be needed: MobiControl version: 14.1.4.1693 (on cloud) Agent version: Samsung ELM 13.5.0 Android version: 7.0 Nougat

No profile update - search integrity never reaching more than 50%

After an upgrade of MobiControl from v13.4.0 to 14.3.2 we have an issue where devices do not download profiles, and the search integrity is usually around 30-40%. All the needed ports are open and the system was working before the upgrade. Ports 9200/9300 were opened during the upgrade process. Are these two issues linked to the same root cause or completely independent issues? Setup: 3 servers, 1 mgmt/DS on LAN, 1 DS in DMZ, 1 SQL. The agent has been updated on the devices. Any ideas how to resolve this?

Remote Control options in MobiControl 14.3 Solved Locked

I have just upgraded to MobiControl 14.3 in our Dev environment and I have question about the prompt that appears when using the Remote Control functionality. Currently our 13.4 users use a combination of the Remote Control and Remote Control (HTML5) for users who do not wish to download the browser plugin. In the 14.3 world, we are referring to the downloadable plugin as a legacy app and if the web-based option is used, SOTI Assist needs to be installed as a prerequisite. Questions: 1) Can someone from SOTI confirm if the downloadable plugin is going to be phased out? If so, any ETA on when this will happen? 2) For web-based access, is there any option to continue using this without the SOTI Assist installation? 3) For web-based access, what does this mean for existing/future device skins?

Way to enroll Andrid 4.x and Android 7+ in one MC installation

We're use MC 12.2.0.23465 with about 150 Samsung phones, half of them GT-I8552 (Android 4.1.2, agent 12.2.0.23440, API Samsung MDM v3, RC +) and the rest GT-I9300I (Android 4.4.4, Agent 12.2.0.23440, API Samsung MDM v5, RC +). We want to begin replacing phones with modern Android 7+ with Enterprise connectivity, but we cannot replace phones at once due to economic and technical reasons. Old Samsungs cannot work in the latest MC 14.2 version (14.2.0.2894 in test). New phones with Enterprise configuration can not work in the old MC 12.2.0.23465. Which version of MC should we choose to upgrade in order to continue using old phones and start gradually using new ones, for example, Moto Z or Samsung A7? I feel that it must be one of 13.x-th? Where can I download this intermediate version for testing? I have not found any links to older versions for upgrade path's described in the SOTI documentation.
