Hi all,I'm having no luck in trying to get some geofence alerts to work, even just to test, and I'm wondering am I missing something.I'm currently on the trial version of MobiControl Cloud, version 14.2.2.1170.I'm testing with Lenovo TB-X304L tablets running Android 8.1.0, but have also been trying with a Samsung SM-G950F phone running Android 9.I have created a geofence and created a corresponding left geofence alert rule, but it just doesn't generate any alerts, doesn't send an alert email, doesn't send a message to the device.I'm putting a tick in the box that says 'Execute alert action even if this alert has been previously raised but not yet closed' when generating the rule.I have a location data collection rule configured also, and it looks like that has been running OK when I look at location in the collected data tab.I've done what I can to test things. I've taken a device outside the geofence and got it to check in, I've sent the device disconnect and connect scripts to see if that makes it realise where it is.I have configured a second geofence in a completely different location and assigned the devices to that, and left the devices overnight to realise that they're not where I've said they're supposed to be. Still no alerts.I've configured a different type of alert just to check (connecting to a particular wifi network) and the alert appears in the mobicontrol console, pops up on the phone and emails me just fine. So, I suppose my questions are, am I missing anything stupid, and do geofence alerts normally work smoothly? Thanks,Brian
Hi, I'm using SOTI V13 with Android devices (Samsung Xcover) and I would like to enable OS auto-update on all devices. Is there a script to do it? On most of devices the OS Auto-update field is not checked and a lot of devices can't have the last update of Androïd OS. Many thanks for your help. BR Farid
Hello, is there an option to install an app only from WIFi? We want to save traffic from the mobile operator.
Testing a Zebra TC70X running Oreo and using Managed Google Play Account in Soti. Now the device does not show its serial and instead says Unavailable. MobiControl 14.1.4.1693
Running latest version of 11 and looking to test the upgrade using the following method. Full Backup of database Install SQL express on new local server and restore database Install same version that is running on old server pointing to the new restored database after doing this is all starts up but i see the old deployment server and management server still listed can i clean that up? I tried with the admin utility and that only has the new server listed. Is there a better way of testing the upgrade?
Hi, I'm using SOTI V13 with agent 13.5.1 on Samsung devices and I have a URL which is on the Kiosk. When I click on this link the web page is opened but a lot of information are not shown contrary to Samsung browser. How can I change the default browser on SOTI to open all URL set in the lockdown with Samsung browser? Many thanks for your help. BR Farid
Hello. I apprecitate your comments on the following subject. The certificate for Deployment Server installed by Mobicontrol by default reveals internal information that can be used by a hacker. As shown in the following image, when the server address is entered in a browser, the certificate reveals information on the internal IP and server name, which is considered a security flaw. For the web console this client has installed a purchased wildcard certificate. The client wants the same certificate to be applied to the Deployment Server. Is it possible to apply the client certificate to the Deployment Server without affecting the devices? There are about 3,000 devices on this server, both Windows Mobile and Android. HI Guys, Does anyone know the script to turn off the Print service option on Samsung phones since the last Android update?
Hello all, we used the device Zebra TC75X under android 6.0 (android+). the mobicontrol client is on version: 13.6.1476 the mobicontrol server is on version : 13.3.3454 we have about more than 700 devices who is configured with network type -> WIFI and GPRS. For some reason some devices CAN BE OFFLINE since several hours . Of course, if these devices aren't connected the datas has not sync with our systems .. It's not many perhpas 10 or 20 devices a day. Also it's not the same devices every day. I've notice it's only when device pass to wifi to GPRS. On all these device, we have some profiles who is apply and also out of contact policy. The configuration of OOC is : device has not connected for 30 min repeat action event subsequent 30 minutes Action : activate connection But devices can continue to be offline sometimes for more than 8 hours. the device re - connect when drivers returns to the office -> network connection pass to GPRS to wifi. I must to find a solution for to solve this problem. I would like to know if it's possible to know if OOC has RUN because i can't see anything in the log of the device ? Also , any idea are welcome for to find a solution :) Thanks for your time

Hi, GPS is stuck on Battery Saving, High Accuracy is greyed out. I would like to set it to High Accuracy. Additionally, how can I force all devices to use High Availability for GPS? If I remove Mobicontrol I get the option back, but that means recalling the phone from the field. I have "Enforce GPS Availability" checked. https://imgur.com/a/TDhRqhv There are Android+ devices. The "Location Accuracy" feature shown here: https://discussions.soti.net/thread/script-for-turning-on-gps-location-service/ is not available in my Feature Control. I tried "writesecuresetting GPSLocationMode 1" per this thread: https://discussions.soti.net/thread/script-for-change-location-mode/ and it did not work.
I just tried to enable Telecom Expense Management on our company Android devices but I had users call to complain about a message popping up (Samsung Lockdown Requires Configuration). I did some googling and found this other post with the same issue. My question is, has there been any updates from Soti since that post from one year ago that will enable me to give MobiControl Data usage access via a script? Or will it be something that has to be done manually? The users don't have access to phone settings so I will have to connect remotely or physically get each device and allow the usage data access on ~200 Android phones.
We have MobiControl 14.2.2.1170 and iPod IOS Version 12.1.4 with Client Version 13.2.1.3693 We want use "Remote Screen Sharing". What do I have to adjust. How do I access the clients?
Hi, What would be a good option to distribute contacts? At the moment we are using google-accounts. But there can only be 10 devices registrated at the time. Our device-pool is growing rapidly. Changing 10 google-contacts is now a bit laboured. They are all in Lockdown-Mode, therefore the modification should happen without influence of the end-user. Kind regards Johann
