As of Aug 2018, is MobiControl v14 still only supporting the following two linux distributions: Ubuntu 16.04 or later Raspbian 8.0 or later Are there any other distributions in the process of certification? If so, what are the estimated schedule to officially have them certified and supported? Also, it seems that only out-of-contact policy is the only profile payload available in the forthcoming MobiControl v14.2. Is there any feature roadmap to add other profile payloads for the linux device platform in the near future?
Device: Windows Desktop Goal: create directory file list (text file) POST copy routine Summary: - Package contains N number of files to be copied to a specific folder - Prescript creates file list BEFORE copy (via Powershell) - Postscript creates file list AFTER copy (via Powershell) Syntax: start powershell.exe c:\temp\DirPost.ps1 Powershell scripts are located in c:\temp directory I'm not able to get Powershell to run. I can call it via the script window without issue but it fails to run via the package postscript. I've considered using "shellexecute" but SOTI doesn't provide a list of "VERBS". ---- extract from SOTI Help file ---- shellexecute filepath -verb [-wseconds] Where -verb is the action you want the shell to execute -w tells the command to wait for the specified length of time (in seconds) before executing ---------------------------------------
Hey Guys, is there a chance to deploy a setting / intent or something else to avoid the "Choose Browser" Message on an Zebra TC Device? We've installed Soti Surf to use a single WEB-App in Kiosk-mode but dont want to use Soti Surf for other URLs or classic webview. for Example: if we start an App and there is an option to show any content online, the device will ask which Browser should be used (Chrome or Soti Surf) Many thanks
on soti.net/oem I downloaded and tried all agents for Huawei but still couldn find an agent to enroll device. we use android enterprice app to enroll then ı how distribute our apps to the device
Currently running MobiControl v. 13.4.0.4962 Does anyone have any experience/knowledge about setting up App Configurations for Chrome on Android? We are managing a set of Android devices and would like to manage the bookmarks that show in Chrome. Under the Application Catalog rule we have set up, going under Application List > Google Chrome > Advanced > Enable App Configuration show several options, one of which is Managed Bookmarks. I've tried setting up the dictionary the way it explains there, as well as a few other formats, and get an error each time that says "The server could not complete your request. An internal error occurred. (Click here to close)". Has anyone come across this before? Or been able to solve it?
I tested Samsung KME for some Samsung test devices running Android+ device agent a few months ago. Does such support also exist when using Android Enterprise device-agent running in Managed-Device mode? If so, does it have the same problem as KME with Android+ device agent, namely that the device end-user has the option of not agreeing to some Samsung Knox licensing conditions and can exit the KME normal flow of enrolling to the predefined MDM/EMM server after factory-reset? Is anyone in Soti working on solving this issue, which render the KME feature useless for device theft protection against abnormal/unauthorized device factory reset? Samsung guys confirmed with me that other MDM/EMM solutions do not have this licensing prompt pop-up on the device screen and thus have no such issue.
Is there anyplace within SOTI that allows someone to dictate how long a user can be logged in to SOTI before they are kicked out? For example, a superuser need log back in every hour whereas a standard user need log in every four hours? Currently running v13.4.0.4591
I have been working with some older handhelds trying to get them into our production environment however I have run into a snag regarding the lockdown feature. The device is an Symbol/Motorola MC3190 Gun style device running CE OS 6, we currently run the same model in prod with OS 6.5 classic with the same lockdown screen, no issues whatsoever. The OS 6 device will install the lockdown but after the install the device is running extremely slow. If allowed to sit overnight the device crashes indicating it ran out of memory and asks to close applications. A cold reboot fixes the issue temporarily but will repeat the crash if allowed to stay on kiosk mode. We use the custom navigation bar options for our lockdown configuration. If I disable the custom lockdown config on the OS 6 devices it no longer crashes and performs very well even if left to sit for extended periods of time connected to the deployment server. I have validated this crash occurs on multiple devices running CE OS 6. I was hoping someone might be able to help provide insight into this issue. Thanks
It is possible to enable this VPN client or we can configure one of these clients that is compatible with SOTI MobiControl
I have a Samsung device that was setup as a work managed device. I have read that "encryption is enabled by default" on work managed devices but have seen the opposite on my devices. When I check the device statuses the encryption status is always "no" unless I manually enable secure boot on that device. I have searched high and low for an option to enable this but can not locate one. On standard android+ device profiles when the encryption option is enabled it turns on secure start up which requires entering the pin before the phone boots. Is there a way to force enable secure startup via MobiControl or am I stuck manually setting it.
Hello In Android 7 devices, we had to set Mobicontrol to foregroundmode enable so the system does not kill the process when it goes to suspend mode. It works fine, but in the lock screen there is always a notification that lets the user access the Mobicontrol app where he may disconnect the device. Is there any way to avoid that notification in lock screen or do not allow user to disconnect device in Mobicontrol app?
The problem reported in one of my previous post at https://discussions.soti.net/thread/when-is-the-bug-related-to-insertion-of-image-on-this-discussion-forum-going-to-be-fixed/ seems to surface again. Apparently, the image inserted by Smod@soti in his/her post at https://discussions.soti.net/thread/android-for-work-in-kiosk-mode-and-unknown-sources/ got replaced with another image totally unrelated a few hours ago. I just don't know how many images in other posts of the forum have been erroneously replaced by buggy software now. Can the forum administrators in Soti fix this problem for good?
Hi, I have set up a configuration for Android for Work devices in Kiosk mode. My problem comes when I have to upgrade the version of one of the apps in the kiosk, the app is not in the Google Playstore so i need to enable "unknown sources", then the app basically downloads an apk with the new release and installs. The apk downloads ok, but it gets stuck while installing. I wonder it hungs becasue it is in kiosk mode. So I have tried the same configuration but with no kiosk and the app is updated with no problem. My question is, do you know if this scenario I want to achieve is feasible (Kiosk mode + update app from unknown sources)? Thanks
We recently downgraded a number of Zebra WT6000s running N back to L and re-enrolled the devices back into the same MobiControl instance as part of that process. The devices were not deleted from the inventory during the process and seemed to, for the most part, reconnect to the MC server just fine. There are a portion of the devices however that are showing up in a Non-Compliant status which is now seemingly preventing them from receiving their full configuration. How can I clear out or get rid of this Non-Compliant status. The Help guide goes into some minor detail on what Non-Compliant could mean, but does not provide any help on what you can do to address this. Other details: - Zebra WT6000 - Android L, 5.1.1 (downgrade from N) - Android+, DA - Agent 13.5.0.1677 - MC 14.1.7 (now), upgraded from MC14.1.0 when we first saw the issue. Still persists after the upgrade
I've configured timesync (Windows Desktop - Time Sync., tested with deployment and NTP server) on the group of the devices. However, the Windows Desktop client (VM3) doesn't sync the time (date is ok, time difference is +6h24m). In the device log i see a warning (not at every checkin): "Inaccurate device date-time detected" Any tips for this?
