I believe the command is 'watchsettings' but i don't recall the proper syntax. Also, the script to use the pulled settings URI to activate or deactivate a setting. I haven't found either script in MobiControl's online help. What I'm trying to accomplish is a script command to turn on Usage Data Access for MobiControl on Samsung Note 8 devices since the device agent no longer requests this setting to be turned on during initial setup.
I'm trying to setup Application Catalog for Android and Android+ Devices. I have added the enterprise apk:s correctly etc. Still the Application catalog in the devices are empty. Content library works like a charm. Soti version 13.3. Any help?
Is there a server side configurable value that controls the timeout of the Remote Control session?
can we get detailed technical information related to the browser, for example, what level of HTML/CSS it supports?

What are the capabilities or features does MDM cannot do if it's not an EMM?What are the capabilities or features does EMM cannot do if it's not an UEM?
I have 150 devices that are missing the proper APN settings for mobile LTE data access. The devices and SIM cards I am using are branded by the same carrier, but auto-configuration is not working. Is there a way to configure the APN settings through MobiControl? There is no "APN" option when setting up the profiles through Android Enterprise (AFW), so I am hoping there's another way to accomplish this.
Hi, I found an issue with the location feature on a device. The ui hangs and in the browser javascript console I get the error you can see in the screenshot attached. I think it's a map library issue, maybe something which needs to be better implemented. I made tests with both chrome and firefox and I get the same result. thanks in advance Regards
In a scenario where Windows, Android, and iOS are involved.
I'm currently trying to open the remote control to a device from MobiControl 14 using the web based option, which uses SOTI Assist. When trying to open the connection, it returns the following error: Error: WebSocket closed without sending a close frame. Checking the logs, this is what it says: 2017-11-03 17:25:16,713 (null) 4 INFO NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Soti.RemoteControl.Logging.Logger Info Permission URL: https://sbimdm02.incasgroup.local/MobiControl/DeviceManagement/ 2017-11-03 17:25:19,338 (null) 4 ERROR NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Soti.RemoteControl.Logging.Logger Error failed to start host: WcfWebSocketChannelHost 2017-11-03 17:25:19,369 (null) 4 ERROR NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Soti.RemoteControl.Logging.Logger Exception System.PlatformNotSupportedException: This platform does not support server side WebSockets. at System.ServiceModel.Channels.HttpChannelListener`1..ctor(HttpTransportBindingElement bindingElement, BindingContext context) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.HttpsChannelListener`1..ctor(HttpsTransportBindingElement httpsBindingElement, BindingContext context) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.HttpsTransportBindingElement.BuildChannelListener[TChannel](BindingContext context) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.Binding.BuildChannelListener[TChannel](Uri listenUriBaseAddress, String listenUriRelativeAddress, ListenUriMode listenUriMode, BindingParameterCollection parameters) at System.ServiceModel.Description.DispatcherBuilder.MaybeCreateListener(Boolean actuallyCreate, Type[] supportedChannels, Binding binding, BindingParameterCollection parameters, Uri listenUriBaseAddress, String listenUriRelativeAddress, ListenUriMode listenUriMode, ServiceThrottle throttle, IChannelListener& result, Boolean supportContextSession) at System.ServiceModel.Description.DispatcherBuilder.BuildChannelListener(StuffPerListenUriInfo stuff, ServiceHostBase serviceHost, Uri listenUri, ListenUriMode listenUriMode, Boolean supportContextSession, IChannelListener& result) at System.ServiceModel.Description.DispatcherBuilder.InitializeServiceHost(ServiceDescription description, ServiceHostBase serviceHost) at System.ServiceModel.ServiceHostBase.InitializeRuntime() at System.ServiceModel.ServiceHostBase.OnOpen(TimeSpan timeout) at System.ServiceModel.Channels.CommunicationObject.Open(TimeSpan timeout) at Soti.RemoteControl.Channel.WebSocket.Host.WcfWebSocketChannelHost.Start() at Soti.RemoteControl.Server.RemoteControlServer.Start(IReadOnlyList`1 hosts)
When will the skin for the Note 8's be functional - I am unable to use the HTML remote control, keeps using the legacy plugin which I am unable to do anything on this phone.
Based on the other topic I've read, it is possible to setup an offline instance. We can bypass SOTI Services by sideloading device agents, skins etc. I just want to know what are the features we can't use or things that we can't do between different OS (Android, iOS, Windows, Linux) if we are planning to setup an instance on an offline environment. Thanks
I have some idea but can you verify or add some to it? For Agent Builder a.) Android - MC Server connects to this service to download or build the device agent. b.) Windows - MC Server connects to this service to download or build the device agent. c.) iOS - ? d.) Linux - ? For Enrollment Service a.) Android - MCagent connects with Enrollment Service to locate the MCserver based on the Enrollment ID b.) Windows - ? c.) iOS - ? d.) Linux - ? 3. Location - How does SOTI location service work? what are the components it communicates with? For Messaging Service a.) Android - you can send message or script via platform notification service (GC2M)b.) Windows - ? c.) iOS - ? d.) Linux - ? For Skins Service a.) Android - you can download skins that will be shown when doing remote control. (So you can also use the hardware buttons) b.) Windows - you can download skins that will be shown when doing remote control. (So you can also use the hardware buttons) c.) iOS - ? d.) Linux- ? And If we want an offline instance, we can just sideload the device agents, skins, and pdb.ini file.
I need to be able to give my applications the ability to change System Settings, such as turning Bluetooth On/Off. Right now, I have to go through 150+ devices and flip the toggle switch to allow the app to do this. These are Android 6.0.1 tablets in Device Owner mode, running on MobiControl v14. Funny enough, I've also seen the MobiControl Samsung MDM Agent on test devices without this permission enabled (on itself) in Application Manager. I've looked at the v14 manual but I haven't been able to determine if this is actually possible through scripting commands. I suspect the sendintent command might do the trick, but had trouble with it in v13. On a related note, what about turning Usage Data Access for the MobiControl agent programmatically? Are there any solutions to make my life easier?
Hi, is there any way to also have Remote Control abilities for Android Enterprise (Work Managed) Samsung devices? I find it strange that I have to ask the user permission to simply be able to View their screen, even as a Device Owner. Is this a feature we can expect to have one day in MobiControl? Update: wanted to clarify that these are Samsung tablets. No separate remote control agent is available for download from SOTI's website.
