Is there a way in SOTI Surf to show a downloaded file (PDF) right after downloading it, without the use of menu-bar? Under SOTI surf privacy options I can see the option to disable downloading or sharing files, but not immediately opening them after download. Otherwise I'll send a feature request.
I'm configuring a Galaxy Tab A6 to only show a webpage in kiosk. I've noticed that on the lockdown menu it's possible to press and hold a text, which then prompts a menu for: Copy, Share, Select All, Web Search. This then provides the user with plenty of opportunities to access the device settings, add various accounts, etc. Is it possible to disable this popup menu when press and holding a text? I'm using SOTI Surf in addition to this and in there, this option is disabled and works, but the lockdown menu provides this access.
Hi, we are using Soti Surf (latest version from Google Play Store) in kiosk mode to display our customer web app. We have noticed that occasionally we will get the ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT page probably due to WiFi connectivity issues. Our problem is that since the android tablet is inside a stand enclosure there is no access to the buttons so there is no way to get out of this screen and re-try to load the web site. This creates big issue for us. We need a way to automatically retry to load the failed URL (or the home URL) and/or show a button on the error page that allows that. Can you please advise of a solution?
Hi, we are using SOTI solution for customer facing kiosks with a web site displayed in Soti Surf in kiosk mode. Soti Surf must be in the foreground at all times displaying the web site. The issue that we are facing is that after re-assignment of our profile (includes Application Run Control, Feature Control, Soti surf settings and Lockdown), Soti Surf gets stuck with a screen showing the message "The administrator has made changes to the surf app's settings. Please launch the browser again" (see screenshot). This happens even if there are no changes to Soti Surf settings. The tablet is enclosed in a kiosk stand so there is no access to the controls of the device. Customers cannot use the kiosk until a technician connects remotely to the device and re-starts Soti Surf on every single device. Please, advise how we can solve this issue without manual intervention. Ideally this message will be bypassed or Soti Surf will restart automatically. The devices are Samsung android tablets running OS 5.0.2 (Lollipop). MobiControl version is 13.3.0.3217, the agent version is 13.3.2.1004 (ELM) and Soti Surf version is 14.1.1.1121. Thank you
Since last week Android BYOD user report, that access to internal websites is not possible anymore. User see on screen a ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED error. iOS users do not report such an issue. Using SOTI Surf 14.1.0.58 from PlayStore and SOTI Server version 13.4.0.4449 Does anyone have the same problem?
We're testing SOTI Surf in combination with SOTI lockdown (kiosk/single app) on a device running Android 4.4.4 (soon on Android 7). Only one URL is white-listed and set as home page. The website is opened, but then SOTI Surf prompts a security warning: There’s a problem with this website’s security certificate. Proceed anyway? After pressing 'OK', the webpage is shown. SOTI Surf is configured, but I'm unable to locate the security settings which could disable this message. Under SOTI Surf Privacy Settings I was unable to find a suitable option.
With the device camera I wish to read a QR Code via SOTI Surf browser. Many browsers allow me to do it. Have a setting that I activate this resource.
I'm working with Android devices (Zebra TC70X/75X) running OS v 7.1.2 and enrolled as Android Enterprise. Is there a way to put bookmarks in SOTI Surf on the home screen? Is this a feature that could be added? I'd like to make accessing this bookmark as easy as possible for our technicians. It would be great to have one button to tap instead of opening the browser and then having them hit the link there.
