Can MobiControl Facilitate Enrolling/Unenrolling Applications into Beta Programs in the Google Play Store?

A few months ago, we manually enrolled majority of our Samsung devices into the Samsara Driver beta program for testing out new features & giving feedback to Samsara. Now that we are the end of the beta period, we are advising the on-site teams to go through all of their phones manually to unenroll the phones from beta program. On each of the phones, they have to go into the Google Play Store on each phone to remove it from the program, same what they had to do for enrollment. In my testing of removing a phone from the beta program, uninstalling and reinstalling did not automatically remove it from the beta program. Does MobiControl, and I guess Android as a whole, allow IT administrators to either enroll or unenroll devices from application beta programs? All of our Android phones are enrolled into MobiControl as Work Managed if that makes a difference.

Smartphone migration without losing Play Store apps Solved

Good morning all, I have a situation I'd like to understand how to solve.  One of our customers is moving its devices from an old MobiControl instance to a new one. We couldn't opt for an upgrade of the old one for variuous reasons. Now he needs to move the devices and to do that we sent the mcsetup.ini file with the enrollment ID of the new instance to all the devices currently enrolled in the old one. With this, the customer can choose when to actually migrate them by simply unenrolling them from the old instance. The agent will look for the mcsetup.ini and then enroll the device again in the new instance. This is working, no fuss. The issue is on the applications which were installed from the managed Play Store: in the new instance we had to change the enterprise binding with a new Google account, which means when the devices enroll in the new instance they lose the old enterprise binding and acquire the new one. Even if I selected the exact same applications in the new App Policy, the apps are first uninstalled and then installed again. This is very problematic because the data of all apps are lost, which means the customer needs to configure again every app. Is this avoidable in some way? The goal would be to DO NOT uninstall the apps. Thank you

    Honeywell CT40 - android experience

Hi all, We've purchased a fleet of CT40 (model L1N-1NC11BF) last year but we've been struggling with application refresh since then. Those devices are enrolled as AE Work Managed from the initial steps, running on android 9. By application refresh, I mean the user is working on our app then it just closes suddenly (no error message). I made some tests where I have multiple apps open, then switch between them and when coming back to our app it logs you out and brings you to the main screen (like a refresh).  That ''kickout'' is happening on a random basis. We've applied a system configuration on the XML file so the DOZEMode is disabled, the Provisioning mode is always ON, the ''retain app login state'' is also enabled. This only diminished the kickout. We don't know where to aim now as we've explored so many hypothesis (from Firewall-webserver communication to app optimization by the vendor) I'm looking for feedback from people who are using the Honeywell CT40 to see what is their overall experience and compare Thanks,

    SOTI interrupt work application

hi everyone, so recently i enrolled about 80 Samsung A01 devices, and my client push 1 application to the device. The apps is hybrid, and the user of the devices sometimes face blank screen when open the apps. The apps maker ask if SOTI interrupt the process of the apps. Told him already that SOTI has nothing to do with the apps.  We tried on 1 devices that not enrolled to SOTI and the issue still happened (blank screen). We (me and my end user) suggest the apps maker to create a mechinism to kill the apps if the apps idle for 1 hour. We suspect that might be the issue. Just wanna ask anyone here experience something like this when do enrollment with SOTI ? I am sure SOTI won't interrupt any apps, but i feels like to share this here in case anyone experienced same kind of issue during SOTI enrollment. Thanks & regards, Randy

Can you launch an application using a script? Solved

Is it possible to send a script to a device to launch an application?  The device is enrolled as Work Managed and is locked down in a kiosk.  We have built an application to change an OS level setting when ran but only want to run it once so ideally we don't want to add it to the kiosk.ThanksJosh.

IOS - Manage the activities of iPad devices

Hello everybody, My customers is working on a project in which the device they use is an iPad (including new and old models), they only use an iPad, not an Android tablet. They want to display iPads in different departments, each department will use the same software but log in with different accounts (internal accounts of the software they design). Of course, these devices will work continuously, the screen always displays a live wallpaper (or list), when the user touches the device screen, the system will automatically run an application pre-configured by your manager on that device.I think the way that works they are planning to implement is quite similar to Lockdown mode on Android devices. However, I have never managed any iOS device on SOTI MobiControl, I wonder if anyone has implemented and stable the model that I just mentioned?Sorry my english isn't very good.Thank you very much!

    Default launcher script

Hi, Is there any way in SOTI that would set my own app as the default launcher on Android? Everytime an update on my app is performed, since the old one is deleted before the new one is installed, a prompt to choose the default launcher will pop-up and we would like that our launcher would be always the default launcher, no exeptions.

Agent keeps pushing to uninstall application

We're just starting to work with Android Enterprise, have our first few devices enrolled. First on the block is a TC75x (Android 8) Android Enterprise - setup with Work Profile (DO) In setup/testing mode right now. Successfully deployed our application with a new profile/package, it shows up as installed, and runs, but there is an enforcement by (Work) MobiControl agent to remove it, the agent pops up with a Pending Action - Application Uninstallation is required. I've gone over settings, ran a few searches and haven't seen this specific behavior. Was hoping we could continue to use packages/profiles to manage the application until we get more DA devices moved over in the future and finally get the app setup in the managed google playstore. I've tried: Whitelisting it's container with appcontrol -w io.cordova.thenameofourapp Used afw set permissions to grant permissions, as well as prevent uninstall.  Checked the google admin console, can't manage the device management>app management from there due to it being managed by third party EMM provider. The ball is rolling to get our app on the managed google playstore. Should have the app signed rebuilt soon, so I can toss it in the Google play console - private apps. Hopefully it's something small & silly. Anybody else run into this?  Thank you!

Search for devices without an app installed

Hi! Running version 14+ of MobiControl. I am trying to make a search/virtual group for devices which does not have a specific app installed. I can make the criterias like, bundle id = xxx and status is not installed but that will only show if the app is reported as uninstalled for example. Not if the app has never even been installed. How can we achieve this in a good way?

Application Configuration using XML for iOS devices

Hello there, I have been trying to push out and make available in the Application Catalog an app called SecurePIM (version 7.75.2) to a set of test iOS (12.1.3) devices in our environment. SecurePIM is pushed automatically and works fine until I try to use the Application Configuration (xml) option to push out predefined settings such as the license code, the email address, etc. You will find my xml below:<dict> <recipientCertificateEmail>helpdesk@company</recipientCertificateEmail> <deviceSerialNumber>%SERIALNUM%</deviceSerialNumber> <license>license number goes in here</license> <userEmail>%ENROLLEDUSER_EMAIL%</userEmail> <activeSyncUser>domain\%ENROLLEDUSER_USERNAME%</activeSyncUser> <activeSyncServer>server goes in here</activeSyncServer></dict> I noticed that if I add the proper xml headers, I get a error message stating "The configuration command you entered must have 'dict' as the root node. Please check your configuration and try again".... hence the <dict></dict> tags and no <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>. The other tags are specific to SecurePIM. SecurePIM requires the end user to register their app and type in their email address and password before they are able to use this app. The idea behind using the xml is to streamline this process so all users need to do is type their password and the app would be pre-registered. I have been in discussions with our SecurePIM reseller who told me (and even showed me official how-to documents) on how to get this feature working in other MDM, however they have not worked with SOTI previously so weren't able to assist me.  It is worth noting that when attempting to use xml application configurations, the app itself does not get pushed to the devices nor am I able to install it via the Application Catalog even though it is there.I am hoping that a SOTI team member or a forum member has had some experience with application configuration xml for iOS devices and are able to shed some light on the problem. This is my first time attempting to pre-configure an app that we want to make available for our users. Happy to provide any further information as required to hopefully get a solution to the problem. Thanks in advance.
