Grant access to URL without creating a shortcut in Lockdown

Hi! We use an Android app (Aims Manager) which launches a browser window for sign-in. When configuring the device with Lockdown mode and adding this app only, the pop-up browser gets blocked unless I add the sign-in URL as a Home Screen Item.  Is there a way to grant access to this sign-in URL without creating a dummy Home Screen Item?

Allow Device Care to run but not accessible by end user.

Hi all We have Samsung Devices in the field that battery drain is a concern with, namely the new Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 SM-X306B (Android 14) that we think would benefit from the battery optimisations menu being accessible. Currently in order to stop end users from accessing their file storage directories on the tablet we are having to blacklist the Device Care service/app so that when they click it they are warned that there is no app that can be opened to access it, as they can access their file storage from that app. On older devices, the Device Care and Battery Optimisation sections were combined into the Device Care app, on the Tab Active 5, there is a separate menu entry in settings for the Battery usage and Optimisations but this is still tied to Device Care. So if we blacklist Device Care, clicking Battery Optimisations also becomes blacklisted and not accessible. As a result of the blacklist, I suspect that Samsung is unable to optimise apps battery usage effectively because its blocked from operating making the battery drain much faster than intended. Is there anyway to block the user accessing Device Care but allow it to continue running in the background by removing it from the blacklist? Using Soti Settings Manager is not an option for us unfortunately as a workaround. We are currently using classic enrolment (please no discussions why). Soti Agent is Android Classic, 2024.1.0.1149 Soti Mobicontrol server: 2024.1.0.1052 Thanks

Android app configurations and sending custom data, hardware serial number & MAC address to Android?

This is with respect to this article for another MDM: https://www.ws1inhawaii.com/2023/02/delivering-managed-configurations.html Would like to know whether SOTI could do something similar for Android device deployments, to send over the Android device's hardware serial #s, hardware MAC address, and any custom data set from SOTI via an app configuration that an Android app would use that we can deploy with to the device. Data that is not normally exposed by Android API to Android Apps, to which we could supplement by having MDM provided that data to the app via the app configs. Given that SOTI supports run intents like Workspace One, I assume this type of feature might also be supported? If yes, where can I find reference material for how to do the same type of thing as that blog post but for SOTI? I assume most of the steps are the same. What would vary is the config steps to do on the SOTI side.

Profile Configurations goes blank when a new Profile Version gets created after doing a PUT on MobiControl/api/profiles/{referenceId}/packages

We are currently trying to automate the release process using the MobiControl API and we've encountered an issue where the Configurations in a Profile get lost when a new Profile Version is created via MobiControl/api/profiles/{referenceId}/packages Our automation process is roughly like this: Get a token.Send POST to MobiControl/api/tokenThis works. Upload a new version of our appSend POST to MobiControl/api/packagesThis works. Retrieve the Packages list for the Profile we want to updateSend GET to MobiControl/api/profiles/{$profileReferenceId}/packagesThis works. Update the Profile, using the list from the step before and updating our app version number to the latest but leaving other packages as isSend PUT to MobiControl/api/profiles/{$profileReferenceId}/packagesThis works BUT we cannot set the Profile Configurations and they do not seem to get copied like when we do this manually in MobiControl WebConsole by doing Edit on a Profile. Assign the Profile to a Device Group to push out the latest version of the appSend PUT to MobiControl/api/profiles/{$profileReferenceId}/assignment So this leaves us with some questions: - Is this a bug where the Profile Configurations don't get copied over to a new Version when using the API? - Is there any way to set the Profile Configurations using the API? Here is a screenshot of how the Profile looks before running the automation process: Here is a screenshot of how the Profile looks after running the automation process:

Application Configuration using XML for iOS devices

Hello there, I have been trying to push out and make available in the Application Catalog an app called SecurePIM (version 7.75.2) to a set of test iOS (12.1.3) devices in our environment. SecurePIM is pushed automatically and works fine until I try to use the Application Configuration (xml) option to push out predefined settings such as the license code, the email address, etc. You will find my xml below:<dict> <recipientCertificateEmail>helpdesk@company</recipientCertificateEmail> <deviceSerialNumber>%SERIALNUM%</deviceSerialNumber> <license>license number goes in here</license> <userEmail>%ENROLLEDUSER_EMAIL%</userEmail> <activeSyncUser>domain\%ENROLLEDUSER_USERNAME%</activeSyncUser> <activeSyncServer>server goes in here</activeSyncServer></dict> I noticed that if I add the proper xml headers, I get a error message stating "The configuration command you entered must have 'dict' as the root node. Please check your configuration and try again".... hence the <dict></dict> tags and no <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>. The other tags are specific to SecurePIM. SecurePIM requires the end user to register their app and type in their email address and password before they are able to use this app. The idea behind using the xml is to streamline this process so all users need to do is type their password and the app would be pre-registered. I have been in discussions with our SecurePIM reseller who told me (and even showed me official how-to documents) on how to get this feature working in other MDM, however they have not worked with SOTI previously so weren't able to assist me.  It is worth noting that when attempting to use xml application configurations, the app itself does not get pushed to the devices nor am I able to install it via the Application Catalog even though it is there.I am hoping that a SOTI team member or a forum member has had some experience with application configuration xml for iOS devices and are able to shed some light on the problem. This is my first time attempting to pre-configure an app that we want to make available for our users. Happy to provide any further information as required to hopefully get a solution to the problem. Thanks in advance.
