Hello, sometimes our devices have an internet connection via WIFI or mobile but they are shown as disconnected in the mobicontrol console. I think that the script '_resetfailedrcdetectionflag restartagent' would help in this instance but as there is no connection from the console to the device I can't send the script. My idea was to create a home screen item which execute the script but I don't know which action need to be chosen or how to build the intent for the script. The devices are enrolled via AE and we are using the activity suppression in our lockscreen. Kind regards, Lucas
Hello, in our system some IOS devices (10 to 15) lost the connection to Soti Mobicontrol. All Profiles, Apps, Rules and Configurations are deleted from the device. The devices also lost the wifi connection. Just the backgroud isn't changed. Mobicontrol Version: 15.4.1.4828 IOS Versions: 14.4.1 - 15.1.1 I have opened a ticket, but maybe someone here has an idea.
Hi all, When starting with SOTI MobiControl we made a choice to put the server on-premises.This because, back then, there where only on-premises devices that needed to be managed. All connected either by internal LAN or WiFi. Now, from within the organization, came the question to have a device connected by 4G and not only being used on-premises. Question: What is the best practice? Moving server to DMZ zone? (not preferred) Second DS server in DMZ zone? Setting up FW rules? ... Any advice, best practice approach is welcome. Greetings,Karel.
Hi all, After installing the latest windows updates and restarting the Server, the MobiControl Search Service couldn´t be started anymore because "the host refused the connection". After reinstalling the same version of MobiControl the MobiControl Search Service starts properly, but our devices cant keep up the connection to our server. In the device logs it says, that every device do connect to the server, but cant even keep it up for a second (this happens every 10 sec for all devices): Furthermore we are not able to enroll new devices, kinda bad because we got some new iPhones for our employees and they cant enroll them... MobiControl Version: 15.3.1.1151 OS: Microsoft Server 2019 MS SQL Version: 15.0.4123.1 Devices: iOS14 +, Android 4.4.4 and 9, WindowsCE6 and 7
Hi All, I have roughly 300 Zebra TC56 devices in the field that are using a particular APN for cellular connection. We need to move these devices to a new sim card which will use a different APN. The issue is when I put this sim card into a device the device will not select the new APN so the device has no data connection. The only way I can fix this is to manually change the default APN. These devices are spread all around the country so as you can imagine this is a big problem for us. We created a profile that pushes down the APN that is required however we are unable to activate this as the device would then go offline. These devices are fully locked down however I have tried testing with a device not enrolled and found the same issue. Run down on my testing; 1) I have taken a device out that is not enrolled in SOTI and put the old comms plan sim card in and that connected instantly to Telstra.wap as expected. 2) I switch off the device and place the new sim in (Telstra.internet) and boot the device. No connection. I check to see the device is still pointed to the Telstra.wap APN. 3) I then manually select Telstra.internet and that resolves the data connection problem but still needed a manual interaction to force it to the correct APN. Zebra TC56Android PlusOS 7.1.2 (Also happens on android 8)OEM 01-01-49.00-NG-U15-STDSOTI Version: 14.4.3.1153 Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Dear Soti community, since about 2 weeks I have trouble to install new devices. I use the same WiFi settings since about 6 months. I also talked to my colleagues from the internal IT network department - "They changed nothing at the WiFi infrastructure." My setup: Test-System - SOTI MobiControl 15.1.3.1021 - Agent: 14.1.5.1059 Prod-System - SOTI MobiControl 14.3.2.1171 - Agent: 14.1.5.1059 Here are some infos about my test devices:- Honeywell CT60 (Brand new device and already existing device9- Android 8.1 Build 129- Android 8.1 Build 180 Device Config (both staging profiles): As I said - I use this settings for about 6 months. After scanning my barcode, my normal device settings are applied first. After that a "Wait for network" task is running. Here is the problem: Sometimes the CT60 device use the connection for about one second and disconnect form the WiFi connection. Then the device is retrying to download the device agent again and again... 2nd scenario: The WiFi connection will be not established. In both cases the WiFi symbol is briefly displayed in the upper right corner and then disappears. However, as soon as I manually configure a device and also manually enter the WiFi settings, I can easily authenticate to WiFi and the connection remains established. I hope somebody of you had such a problem before and can help me. Of course the colleagues from the network department say that it is because of MY barcodes and configurations. But I can't imagine it, because these settings worked without problems for more than half a year now.

Hi all, I run an instance which has been slowly growing, we've recently hit 549 devices. However, the amount online has stayed consistently just under 40%. 60% of devices will be offline at any time. IT also seems to rotate through different devices but never going above that 40% online mark. All devices are Android +. Some will connect one day and not the next. I'm at a loss as to why this is happening, but we urgently need as many of these devices connected at once as possible. Would there be a connection limit on the server? Any help as to why this is and how to fix it would be hugely appreciated.

I'm very new to SOTI, and I'm looking to produce some custom reports. I downloaded the i-net Clear Reports Designer that was linked to in SOTI's Reports tab, but I wasn't sure how to set SOTI as the data source within the Reports Designer. Which driver should I use, and how do I find the User, Password, Host, and Database? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hi;My Zebra TC75 device "Agent Status" still waiting "Connected, waiting for server response" and the device seems to be Offline on the console.Other Samsung Android devices "Agent Status" section just writes "connected" (green color) and devices online. I tried to wipe the device. I re-enrolled the device but the result did not change. Have you encountered a similar problem before?
