It is possible with active KIOSK Mode that the User can change settings on the Device (without a restriction of MobiControl agent), as the user would be in the "system Preferences" menu. What i can see is the affected Version from the Playstore : 45.2.19-29 [0] [PR] 732221263 With the Version 45.2.19-31 [0] [PR] 732221263 is the option not available. How to reproduce with Playstore Version 45.2.19-29 Open Playstore Tab on the User icon (right top) Go to Settings Expand the menu "General" Tab on "Notification Settings" Tab on "Account" Then you see on the Right top Side the "magnifying glass" Klick on it Then you can search and do many device configuration , when you know for what you need to search. Like wifi changes or other Settings on the Device MC Version 2024.1.2 & 2025.0.2 Device Agent : 2025.0.4.1100 When i go into the Playstore and klick "Update Play Store" it says "Google Play Store is up to Date" , when i enroll a new Devcie it is installing the Version "45.2.19-31" and all is fine. Actually my only idea is to: Install the Playstore update manually on the Devices Reomve the Playstore from the Kiosk Screen Has someone of you faced the same issue, or ideas ?
Hi, I have around 250 devices with an app policy to install/update one application from Google PlayStore. I configured the application with High Priority as App Updated Mode. These devices also has one profile with Managed Google Play configured as Always Update. When a new version is available in PlayStore, almost half of the devices doesn't update. When I access Play Store on device, there is an indication that a new version is available. I can select the update option and the application update will be installed. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?
hello, we have 8500 zebra tc77 enrolled as android enterprise work managed devices. on all devices gms are active and the google account is activated. i forgot to add the managed google play configuration in our lockdown profile and add this afterwards. we add updates allowed only by wifi in the playstore config. but the installation is so slow.... i assigned it 2 days ago and now only 920 devices have installed the new configuration. if i remove the managed google play configuration the update is installed within max. 1 hour. all other profiles are installed very fast. android 8.1 mc agent: 14.5.4 mc version: 15.3.3 any idea thx mark
Dear All, We are using Mobicontrol 15.3.0.6713 and there cases of Android Devices where some apps are not updated regardless if the relevant setting is set to always update. is there any way to check / control this and also any way to force the update for all devices from time to time? Best regards
Hello, how exactly would you realise somewhat of version control in android enterprise for things like agent updates and app updates (public). And how exactly is the agent update and app update handled by the managed google play store? What are the criteria that must be met in order of the play store to update the app / agent. ( i know you can manage app updates ) But that arent many options to choose from, we´d like to somewhat test new app and agent updates before they are silently pushed and installed on all the ae devices. What is your approach to this and what am i maybe missing? Thanks in advance. Kind regards John
Hi, We have a Zebra TC57 running android V8.1. without a lockdown users can access the play store and can remove mandatory apps. previously it came with a banner saying this is mandatory and you cannot uninstall. Agent version is 13.7.6.1004. am i missing a flag or something? Thanks Tom
Hi, we are getting error when we try to add google play store apps to an application catalog rule. The error appears after selecting the app in the search results. I have noticed that the version field is not filled in and also the description field contains some encrypted text. Issue happens with any app we tried. My guess is that the system is unable to parse the data from the app store correctly. Eventually the entry gets added after few retries but then I have noticed errors in the DS Log: 2018-07-10 12:12:02,526 (0x00002b20) [ERROR] ServerUtils::CheckIfMandatoryApplicationInstalled() Failed to verify MandatoryApplication version: Device(990004699487892), Expected(net.soti.surf), Got(net.soti.surf14.1.0 Build 58) I do see some errors in the Management Service log that might be related: ********************************************************************* Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. *********************************************************************[TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.] at System.RuntimeMethodHandle.InvokeMethod(Object target, Object[] arguments, Signature sig, Boolean constructor) at System.Reflection.RuntimeMethodInfo.UnsafeInvokeInternal(Object obj, Object[] parameters, Object[] arguments) at System.Reflection.RuntimeMethodInfo.Invoke(Object obj, BindingFlags invokeAttr, Binder binder, Object[] parameters, CultureInfo culture) at Soti.MobiControl.ManagementService.MarketSearchCommunicationService.Details(MarketDetailsRequest request) at Soti.MobiControl.ManagementService.ServiceBase.Soti.MobiControl.ManagementService.Contracts.IMarketSearchCommunicationService.Details(MarketDetailsRequest request) at SyncInvokeDetails(Object , Object[] , Object[] ) at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.SyncMethodInvoker.Invoke(Object instance, Object[] inputs, Object[]& outputs) at Soti.MobiControl.ManagementService.ServiceOperationInvoker.Invoke(Object instance, Object[] inputs, Object[]& outputs) at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.DispatchOperationRuntime.InvokeBegin(MessageRpc& rpc) at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.ImmutableDispatchRuntime.ProcessMessage5(MessageRpc& rpc) at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.ImmutableDispatchRuntime.ProcessMessage11(MessageRpc& rpc) at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.MessageRpc.Process(Boolean isOperationContextSet) { [NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.] at Soti.MarketSearch.MarketSearchHelper.GetAppInfo(String queryString) } ******************************************************************** ### 2018-07-10 16:25:50.982 WARN [78]: GetInnerText: value is nul or empty. Hi All, We are using SOTI V13 with majority android plus devices. We are struggling to get vendors to provide us with APKs to push to our devices and provide updated APKs when required. I see we can put them in an "app catalogue" but this seems to just provide a link to a play store but the majority of our devices are shared devices in lockdown. I've also see within mobile iron you can pull an APK in from the play store. does anyone have any suggestions / advice?
