Hi all,

We recently noticed a persistent notification “SOTI MobiControl is Running” in the status bar of our devices. We are not sure when it started appearing or what triggered it.

Environment

• SOTI MobiControl 2026.1 (cloud)
• Agent: Android Enterprise 2026.2.2 Build 1001
• Devices: Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 Pro, Android 16
• Enrollment: Android Enterprise Work Managed (COBO) via Knox Mobile Enrollment, Knox Service Plugin, Lockdown

What we considered

• Adding net.soti.mobicontrol.androidwork to the KSP Notification blocklist: not an option, as this would also block pending actions and password policy prompts that users need during enrollment.
• Disabling all keyguard notifications: only affects the lock screen and would hide important notifications from other apps.
• Disabling the notification channel manually on the device works for testing, but is not feasible for ~3,500 devices in Lockdown.

Questions

1. Is this notification expected behaviour of the agent, and if so, since which agent version or Android version?
2. Is there a supported way (agent setting, managed app config or profile) to suppress or hide it centrally?
3. If not, which notification channel does it use, so it can be disabled without affecting other agent notifications?

Is anyone else seeing this? Any workaround is appreciated.
