"Blocked by your IT admin" - Android app not start, why?

If I install an Android application (Owncloud) via SOTI Mobicontrol from the managed Play Store and later try to run it, the app will not be usable—I only receive the following message: 'Blocked by your IT admin.'

No additional restrictions have been set (e.g., application run control or feature control...).

If I run the same Android app on a managed device without SOTI Mobicontrol, it works fine.

Parameters:

  • Device type: Android Enterprise

  • Device family: Android Plus

  • OS version: Android 12

  • Android status: Provisioned / Enabled with managed Google Play accounts

  • Management type: Work-managed device

What can cause the application to run?

SOLVED!

We had to enable the 'Allow account creation' option in Feature Control.

Hi Sandor, 

can you check if you have a Profile set that with an "Application Run Control" and set this App no be not allowed?

Second to check if you disable all assigned Profiles to the device to check if there is someting general Blocked in a other Profile.

Second is you can create in MC a new folder with no Policys and Profiles, create a Profile and add there the "feature Control" and allow there all settings..

Move the Device in that folder and after all is applied to the Device to start the app and see if it is now able to start.

What do you mean by "a managed device without Soti"... how do you manage this?

Check if the app requires a personal (Google) account or so you may not allow to be setup on the managed device via Soti.You can "enable" this by providing a feature control policy.
