"Blocked by your IT admin" - Android app not start, why? Solved

If I install an Android application (Owncloud) via SOTI Mobicontrol from the managed Play Store and later try to run it, the app will not be usable—I only receive the following message: 'Blocked by your IT admin.' No additional restrictions have been set (e.g., application run control or feature control...). If I run the same Android app on a managed device without SOTI Mobicontrol, it works fine. Parameters: Device type: Android Enterprise Device family: Android Plus OS version: Android 12 Android status: Provisioned / Enabled with managed Google Play accounts Management type: Work-managed device What can cause the application to run?

Script to rename Android Enterprise devices

I am looking for a way to rename a device with a user specified name.  I would like to prompt the user for the asset number and then use that in the device name.  I got that information with a Java script: var file = new mobicontrol.io.File('/sdcard/asset.txt'); mobicontrol.message.createTextPromptDialog('What is the asset tag number?').withCallback(onOk).show(); function onOk(result) { if (result.inputText != null) { file.writeText(result.inputText); } } But when I try to use that information to rename the device I get an error saying Set isn't a valid command: set myVar=TXT:/sdcard/asset.txt?LN=1 devrename %myVar% Is there a way to either do this all in 1 Java script command?  Or is there a way to set the variable from the legacy script?

    Android Enterprise Device?

Hello everybody, There is a customer of mine who is hesitant to buy tablet devices to manage these devices with Work Managed of SOTI MobiControl, they do not know specifically which devices will be able to install Work Managed. However, my knowledge of Android Enterprise is still quite new, hopefully someone can help me answer some of the issues I mentioned below.First, what does the Android Enterprise device really mean? Will non-Android Enterprise devices affect device management with SOTI MobiControl.Second: How to know which devices are Android Enterprise devices, and not. I was instructed to access the following link: "https://androidenterprisepartners.withgoogle.com/devices/" to check. I don't know if this website is fully up to date and accurate.I used to misunderstand that the devices with the initial configuration interface when first used (or after factory reset) are Android Enterprise devices, I can assign Profile - Work Managed to those devices (enter code afw # mobicontrol at asked to enter Google account). In contrast, the devices I can assign Profile - Android Plus with are not Android Enterprise devices. I used to think that, but I think I was wrong. Many Thanks!

Controlling Managed Google Play Updates Solved

Hi, With the introduction of the new managed google play update configuration in 14.2.1. Does anyone know how it's possible to trigger an app update on a device, if it's been marked as 'never update'. I need to be able to check an update before rolling it out to the entire fleet and am trying to figure out the best way to control this. Once this is done, is there a script or something I can send which will trigger the devices to update apps from the playstore? Thanks for your help

Can I remote control Work Managed Devices (Android Enterprise)? Solved

Hi, is there any way to also have Remote Control abilities for Android Enterprise (Work Managed) Samsung devices? I find it strange that I have to ask the user permission to simply be able to View their screen, even as a Device Owner. Is this a feature we can expect to have one day in MobiControl? Update: wanted to clarify that these are Samsung tablets. No separate remote control agent is available for download from SOTI's website.
