Unable to Enable Interleaved 2of5 Scanning

I've been having trouble with enabling the I2of5 barcode scanning. This is the process I've been following to try getting this scanning working correctly.

We are using the Zebra MC9300

  1. Without setting up the scanner, opened Datawedge and enabled the settings needed.
(Interleaved 2of5 and send enter key)

  2. Exported Profile to datawedge.db

  3. Add the datawedge.db to package and upload to mobicontrol

  4. Setup Scangun using afw#mobicontrol

  5. Use App Policy to install Zebra OEMConfig and setup managed app config

    1. Setup NTP settings

    2. Setup Datawedge Config

      1. Point to datawedge.db file

      2. Enable Automatic Database Import

After setup is complete and I've gone through this process I am still unable to scan sample Interleaved 2of5 barcodes.

I have a couple of follow up questions.

  • Is DataWedge still showing as an enabled application after enrolling using that method?
  • You mention that you exported a Profile to datawedge.db. Did you export a profile or did you export the entire backup of settings? You can't export just a single Profile into that name, it would have a different filename if it was for a specific Profile.
  • Which Profile did you modify with the configuration changes? Profile0 or a custom profile?
  • Where are you placing the datawedge.db file on the device?
  • What version of Android is on the MC9300?

Thank you for your response and apologies for my late reply.

  • Is DataWedge still showing as an enabled application after enrolling using that method?
    • I did forget to add to my post that I have added a task to enable the datawedge app. While reviewing for the config on the scangun I noticed an embarrassing typo in the script and corrected that to 'enable_system_app com.symbol.datawedge' So I am seeing the datawedge app now and I'm able manually enable I2of5 barcodes.

  • You mention that you exported a Profile to datawedge.db. Did you export a profile or did you export the entire backup of settings? You can't export just a single Profile into that name, it would have a different filename if it was for a specific Profile.
    • I exported Profile0 and kept the default export name of datawedge_profile0.db

  • Which Profile did you modify with the configuration changes? Profile0 or a custom profile?
    • Profile0

  • Where are you placing the datawedge.db file on the device?
    • %sdcard%\Android\data\com.symbol.datawedge\datawedge_profile0.db

  • What version of Android is on the MC9300?
    • 8.1.0

Given my at least initial error I suppose I just need to make sure I'm trying to import the file correctly and potentially export a new db file.

Thank you!
