Use

  /wap-provisioningdoc/characteristic/characteristic/parm[2]/@value

to get the string "Hostnamentestnamenstest" from your .xml file.

Has the same custom data been added by someone else earlier?

Have you tried saving/creating your custom data with a new Name field, say "Testname2"?  If so, what's the result?

BTW, it's best for your XML filename to include the complete path starting with the root directory "/".

thanks for the input. I just changed it again, now saying

I'm not getting any error, but it also doesn't show anything. The XML it is supposed to read from looks like this. Is there anything wrong with or the XPATH?
