Annoying notifications in MobiControl web console

Solved

Hi,

we are using version 15.1.0.3416 of MobiControl, and currently we are constantly reminded of two things when we log into the web console:

Android Agent Updates

Almost All Licenses Used

Is there any possibility to remove those notifications? Neither of them are relevant to us.

The first one is reminding us that there are updates available for some Android agents - but there are no updates to the Android agents we are actually using.

The second one is even more annoying, since it is perfectly normal to be using exactly 100% of the available licences, and then buy new licences whenever they are needed. If this is a tactic to get people to buy more licences, then it is not working for us, and instead it is downgrading the UX of the application.

Hi Will,

Thank you for posting on SOTI Pulse!

Thank you for requesting an answer from us. Regarding the notification in Mobicontrol web console, you can limit who can view announcements by setting the User permissions. This feature is available in Mobicontrol version 15.5 and above. Please refer to the screenshot below :

If you require any more assistance, please feel free to let us know. If not, feel free to mark the post that solved this issue as solution

I totally agree that there should be some ways in the UI (Global Settings in Web-Console) to configure at least which categories of notifications be disabled, just like log levels for various type of MobiControl server logs.

Hello Daniel

Thanks for requesting an answer from SOTI Support!

Your suggestions and feedback about the product is highly appreciated.

Unfortunately, we might not be able to turn off those notifications at this point of time, but this issue has been brought into the notice of our product team. In future, we might come up with some flexibility that will be provided to our customers to filter the notifications that they want to see on the Console.

As completely turning off these notifications could cause much problems as customers will be missing on some important system related notifications such as certificate expiry , login password renewel etc.

But still I would like you to create a support case(click here) or call SOTI Support team(click here) to raise a Feature Request to  make some notifications dismissible. These feature requests should be created by customers via a Support case.

Please let us know if you have any other concern

Kind Regards,

DS

I would very much like to log a case, but I'm unable to! Even after I've filled out all fields, I get the message:

"Missing required values!"

followed by a single red dot, like a line in an unordered list.

Maybe I should log a case about not being able to log a case? :-)

Regards,

Daníel

Another +1.

At least having the ability to only show these notifications for administrators would be nice.  Standard users should not see the licensing or other system level notifications.

Has there been any new developments or updates on this?  Would love to be able to disable or configure the system notifications from appearing to all users instead of only certain or Admin level.

I see in this case from 2018 that development was "looking into" the feature request,etc....
