Honeywell OEMConfig System update settings

PS

Hello! I am looking for a method of downgrading from Android 10 to Android 9.
I have downloaded the HON660-P-88.00.22-(0214).zip (1.6GB) file from honeywell.

Issue: When creating a file sync and attempting to upload the .zip it errors out.
Created a package and when uploading the package into mobicontrol another error out. I think it might be caused due to size of file?

The goal is to standardize our Honeywell endpoints to only run on Android 9. any insight is most welcomed!

What version of MC are you running? There is a bug in 2024.0.0 that results in failures when you attempt to upload large files. The typical limit is 2GB file uploads into MC but I've seen it fail on anything over about 400mb on 2024.0.0. If its a cloud hosted environment and that's the version you're on you may need to call into support and have them upload the file to the server file system directly. I was able to do that to get around the bug and upload limitation.

As for downgrading the devices to Android 9, I don't necessarily have much advice there. I'm usually taking my devices in the opposite direction with most environments on A11 and A12 at this point with preparations underway to move to A13. Note with downgrades in Android they often can result in the device being fully or partially wiped. Google has built in downgrade protection that will will wipe the device if downgraded to a lower android security patch level than what is currently installed. This is a consumer protection feature of Android as its designed to prevent nefarious actors from downgrading an Android device to take advantage of an otherwise patched security hole. It's something we have to learn to workaround in the enterprise dedicated device space however, like many of the other consumer grade features of Android.

Hi Paul,

Downgrading is not such "easy".

on Zebra you need to create a Profile with StageNow.

With Honeywell it might be the same to use the Enterprise Provisioner to "enable" the Downgrade Option.

https://hsmftp.honeywell.com/

From my side i had never Downgraded a Device Remote automated only Upgraded.

in the Enterprise Provisioner is the Option that you can "enable" the OS Downgrade.

There you can config a full Profile where you can test if when you activate the "Enable OS Downgrade.." and there you can also specify that you Download the file from an other source to the Device.

I never import large Files in the Database that blows the size only up.

Also what has to keeped in Mind is when the A10 relase is higher as the A9 relase it do not let you downgrading only manually on each Device.

Also when you would like that the Honeywell Devices are Enrolling then automated back you need to copy to the IPSM Storage the following files:

/storage/IPSM/honeywell/persist/DeviceConfig.xml

/storage/IPSM/*MobiControl*.apk

/storage/IPSM/honeywell/provisioning/factoryreset.xml (Provisioner.xml renamed)
