I'm having trouble trying to enroll Zebra MC33 devices. I tryed differents Android+ agents, but it fails to enroll. I only can enroll it with the Android Enterprise Agent, but i don't know how to enroll it in Device Administrator mode. When you do a factory reset, it doesn't show the Google account configuration or the Language selector screen, to access the QR provision mode.

You need a different add-devices rule to enroll an Android Enterprise device.  Create a new or associate an existing "Managed Google Play"  account in the Google account tab of the new rule.

In the general case of most AE ready devices,  after factory reset, change the language if needed, then on the same screen page (as the language selection), just tap unoccupied screen area six times and there should be prompt related to Android-Enterprise installation (for download of the QR-code reader, etc.).  Then scan the QR code created from MobiControl Stage running on Windows desktop/notebook computer.

Alternatively, you can choose to install and run the Mobicontrol Stage app on an Android provisioning device, input enrollment ID, Wifi configuration, etc, and select between QR code or NFC enrollment.  Either get a QR-code on the screen of this device, and use your MC33 device to scan this QR code, or make an NFC bump if your MC33 supports it.

I know that proccess to enroll, but when i factory reset this devices, it doesn't show the language selection screen or the Google account configuration screen. It goes directly to the desktop.

In that case, you probably haven't performed a full device factory reset, but possibly only an enterprise reset. I've encountered something similar on another Zebra device model.

Maybe you can first check your Zebra's documentations how to enforce a full device factory reset, which might depends on what you have configured on your device previously.

Let's  also see if my friend, Matt Dermody, who is very active in this forum, can give you some clue.  He knows much much more about Zebra devices than I do.   I've just left him a message for you.

Samuel,

Is your goal to enroll the MC33s with Device Administrator and the OEM agent or to enroll them successfully with Android Enterprise? Have you updated the device to Oreo already or is it still running Nougat?

The MC33 is also available in GMS and AOSP versions. If you're running an AOSP version then you won't see any of the Google apps like Chrome or the Play Store and you wont be prompted with the Setup Wizard after a Factory Reset. You can still enroll with Android Enterprise if using AOSP, but its somewhat of a complex process in comparison.

Hi,

I only have an AOSP device right now.

I just want to try the lockdown, but i can't enroll it with Device Administrator or Android +.

I have an MC33 enrolled in my test 14.x environment using Android+(DA). The device is AOSP running Nougat. I have had some trouble enrolling any of the Zebra Oreo builds using DA but that may be due to Zebra no longer signing the OEM agent moving forward in order to push us towards AEDO. If your device is running O I would suggest downgrading it to N and attempting to enroll again to see if that is the issue.

Did you used the agent from soti.net/oem and which version? Or did you downloaded it directly from your Mobicontrol server?

I don't quite remember but it looks to be on 13.6.0.1257 which is newer than the version that my server distributes so I likely pulled it from the OEM downloads.

Do you have the APK and can you share it?

I tried every Zebra agent in the OEM portal. The closest one to your version is 13.6.0.1476, but it doesn't work for me.

Thanks!
