Hi all!
We are using ET50 Zebra Tablets with Android 6.0.1.
Also we are using the SOTI Lockdown with an application, launched in single app mode.
We had to add some more intents and another Launch app (android.nfc) to get the nfc reader to work.
The problem is that the user is able to leave the application by clicking the back button and can enter the lockdown launcher screen.
We thought this is prevented by single app mode?

I don't have much experience with Single App mode, but if you are managing the devices using Android Enterprise then it is likely implemented via Lock Task Mode. Lock Task Mode is one of those features of Android Enterprise that has been enhanced over time. Android 6.0.1 was early on in the development timeframe of Android Enterprise and so I would expect many of the modern or more current AE features to not work as well on a device running that older version.

If you're instead managing the devices using legacy/classic Device Administrator mode then I believe the behavior your experiencing might be expected with how the launcher works.
