Email configuration for AFW

Good morning.

I am currently configuring some Zebra TC77 devices using afw#mobicontrol to enroll them.

this has had its challenges with permission etc but think i am getting there.

my query is around email.

we have an application which enables the user to send data via email.

however the devices states there are no supported email applications.

i have since found out that because i have enrolled using this method most system apps are hidden.

i know i can enable the relevant apps with a script which is fine (already had to do this for the camera app)

my query is what app should i use for email and more importantly how can i set the device up with an email account using the AFW email used to register the device.

i need to prevent the users from having to add their own accounts in order to send emails

You can associate each device with an AD/LDAP user account (during enrollment with relevant add-device rule option, or manually by manual input or bulk import from CSV file). 

Then choose from Managed Google Play store  an email app which supports managed configuration compliant to the AppConfig framework, and specifically have key/value pair to configure user account.  Then try to use standard Mobicontrol macros for user account mentioned above for configuring the corresponding key/value pair for user account in the email app managed configuration tab.

Also, you could look into the email profile payload for Android-Enterprise platform, and see if the configurations supported fit your email server/client .  This was the approach used for the OEM specific Android+ device platform in the past, but the corresponding email profile payload for Android+ platform supported email server /parameters different from those for AE, and thus I am not sure if it still work without doing any real tests on more recent versions.

Did you manage to test Raymond's suggestion above regarding the enrollment.
