We are looking to install a new monitoring application via apk on our android enterprise HHTs (Zebra TC52X and TC53). It's probably me, but I'm unable to find some proper instructions for installing the package/profile and pass along config parameters automatically -- we'd rather not have to find and touch every device in each location in order to simply scan a QR code.

Could you please specify what kind of monitoring app you're looking for and what you expect from it?
I only need to know how to pass parameters to the application after installation so the customer ID and registration key, etc. are configured automatically when installing from apk. I'm currently awaiting a response from the vendor, and just wanted to see if anyone in this community has been able to make this work. Thanks to all.
That depends if target application supports it. Either managed configuration, intent receive (if you are talking about barcode configuration this could be the way but it's not guaranteed), config file or URI format. You must speak with the developer to find suitable solution for you if there is any. Unfortunatelly in Android world there are no standard ways available for rest of the system like there were in the past on Windows. But if there is any option in your app Soti can help to distribute it
Add the app as an Enterprise app in an App Policy and then inspect it to see if it offers any Managed Configurations.
