iOS Feature Control removing managed apps

I have installed the Mobi agent and our retail app from the store via App Store Licence Management and an app policy. That works fine and the apps install. i now pushed a feature control profile and the 2 apps disappear. There is also a wifi and certificate setup in the profile but i dont think they are causing it. Has anyone had this before and know what feature control might be doing this?

Even I'm not familar with iOS deployment yet but if you don't know which causes this issue in the feature control profile, i recommend to start with a new feature control profile where everything is allowed (assigned only to test device for sure) and really step-by-step revoke the permissions you don't want to grant 1 by 1 and check everytime if the issue reappears.

This takes time and is a lot of work but then you get by sure to the point when the issue appears again and then you know which setting there causes the issue. If the issue also appears when everything is set to "allow", then i recommend to get in contact with Soti for deeper investigation.

What are the two ASL apps that had been installed and seemed to have disappeared after deploying the feature control profile?

Similar situations happen all the time for either Android or Apple device platforms.   It is totally possible that one or more feature control options cause the two deployed apps to be "indirectly" blacklisted and not visible in the home-screen.   In such cases, the apps had not be uninstalled, but were just blacklisted and thus removed from the home-screen because they need not be launchable.

@Raymond: Shouldn't be that more likely then a "application run control" profile instead of "feature control" what you describe? Never seen an app being "blacklisted" because of feature control or does apple handle this different? Do you maybe have an example for that (maybe via PM)?

Hi Mark,

Thank you for posting on SOTI Pulse!

Could you please share the screenshot of the "Feature control" profile that you pushing to the device and also do you also have "Application Run Control" Profile pushed to the device? If yes, please share the screenshot of that as well.

Kind regards,
