JavaScript | Set Preferred APN on Android Enterprise

In the release notes for Android Enterprise Agent 15.2.0, it says that there is now the ability to 'Install, uninstall and set/get preferred Access Point Names (APN) on Android Classic and Android Enterprise Work Managed'

Does anyone have any instructions on how to do this?

In the past we have used the APN profile configuration, but this seems to fail more often than it works these days.

I only know how to set an APN profile currently and there you can also set it as the "default connection", and this worked very well for us in the past (we didn't use the default connection option).

We have been using the profile configuration method for years and it has been working, but recently it has stopped working for certain APNs (private Vodafone APNs in particular).

The release notes say that it is now possible to configure this through JavaScript so hopefully someone out there can let me know how.
