Multiple Zebra TC51 Devices Getting Same Device ID

I can enroll one of the Zebra TC51 devices, but under the device details tab the Device ID field is "020000000000". I'm not able to enroll more than one device as it will try to use the same Device ID for any of the devices I try to enroll. What am I missing here?

Probably wrong settings in your add-devices rule, your server set-up,  or some communication problem between your device and server such that the actual device ID cannot be communicated to replace the temporary number you have.  "020000000000" by itself is definitely not a valid Device ID.

Android Agents will create their DevID by asking the Operating System for a Unique Value based on a Device Property. If the Device Property does not exist it will go down the list to the next property.

In order of attempting to generate a devid by property:

  1. Serial|OEM|Model (Zebra Only)
  2. Phone ID (IMEI)
  3. WiFi MAC
  4. Bluetooth MAC
  5. Android ID

What is probably happening with your devices is that one of the properties on the list is set as 020000000000 for all of your devices. You should look through your device's settings to identify which property has this value, then ask Zebra why the device has the value for that property (Firmware issue probably).

For a workaround, call SOTI Tech Support, they can give you a device script command to change the DevID of the device to whatever you want. This is a hidden and potentially dangerous script command so please exercise caution when using it.
