lockdown screen for iPad

Hi All

I have been using lockdown screens for our Android scanners for a while and have now been tasked with doing the same for some iPads, but i dont seem to be able to find the option. I can not use single app mode for the iPads as there is going to be 4 apps they can use.

All I want the users to see is a screen with 4 options one for each app and would have liked at the bottom a name and serial footer as I have for the Android devices so they can easily identify the device for any trouble shooting.
Is this even possible?

Not managing iOS devices yet but would think of a combination of application run control (whitelist) + home screen layout.

But this may also provide access to settings or so and needs to be tested carefully as this is no real kiosk mode you are looking for.

And regarding the identifier: We use a unique Background image on allour (Android) devices. So even if device is locked, they know which one it is for troubleshooting. (And we also add the device name to the notification screen but this is i guess Android only)

Thank You Rafael. This was the only way I could see it being set up, unfortunately its not ideal for my use case. I will have to make it work.

Another possibility could be to use an app providing such a kiosk screen but don't know of how they work and if they are practicable.

Hi Terry,

The restriced MDM API architected by Apple does not support MobiControl capability to have very fancy & flexible kiosk defined with html/CSS/javascript codes in either Mobicontrol standard template or totally customized template.

Using whitelist in Application-Run-Control and home-screen layout profiles has been my standard way to create multi-item kiosk on Apple devices for over 10 years.  In fact, My ARC whitelist were implemented with .xml file in MobiControl custom profile when the iOS ARC profile payload was not supported in earlier MobiControl versions.

Wallpaper can be configurable with MobiControl on iOS devices.

Thank you Raymond. so you can lock out settings? I would then need to remove the profile to gain access? unlike the Android lock screens with Admin password to get to the OS.

Unlike Android,  the Settings  app on Apple device is special in that it is whitelisted by default and cannot be blacklisted by any MDM solution.  It can be made inaccessible by end-user in the UI level when the Apple device is configured in Single-App mode, but otherwise it will be automatically inserted in multi-item kiosk even if it has not been included in deployed Home Screen Layout profile policy.
