Mirroring

Using a Samsung Galaxy tablet to connect to a monitor and mirror the screen.  The tablet is connected via usb-c to hdmi.  Once the tablet is placed on Lockdown, the mirroring stops (black screen on the monitor).  There are 4 different packages provided in the Device Control that can be added to the homescreen: com.sec.android.desktopmode.uiservice com.sec.android.app.desktoplauncher com.samsung.desktopsystemui com.sec.android.dexsystemui I've added all these several different ways (together, alone, etc) and all provide the same black screen. Also have experimented with com.sec.android.app.dexonpc for possible usb display issues. Is there an easier way to mirror the display? What combo of apps should be used? Does a script need to be involved for all apps that may be deactivated through enable_system_app?

Can you provide how you configured the lockdown (also if activity supression or native)?

I tested few weeks ago with our lockdown active (we use activity aupression and device on Android 16 and a dockingstation).

Those devices just worked fine with lockdown and DEX / Android Desktop (even in my opinion it's wrong, as with that you can workaround the lockdown, so it should be more likely as you experienced).

The items you mentioned are likely not sufficient.

The software modules that need to be whitelisted depend on your Samsung device model, firmware version, your settings related to screen-mirroring/DeX/USB/HDMI-transport,  UI & display-routing related services, Knox DeX/Mirroring options, etc.

What are the exact model and firmware version of your Samsung device?  With these, a preliminary list of app bundle-ID's may initially be proposed based on historical data collected or scattered information on the web.

However, tests on the actual device are usually needed to verify the bundle-ID's of modules responsible for each of the above categories in your device firmware, and to determine the minimum set/combination of items needed for your particular mirroring/connection use-case.

All Samsung tablets seem to be working with just connecting via cable to the monitor without any changes in settings EXCEPT for the S11, SM-X930.  When this tablet is connected (without any additional setting changes besides lockdown) there is just a black screen on the monitor.

S11 is relatively new model, does it have maybe a newer OS Version which could cause issues?

Or because of newer OS it could need, as Raymond mentioned already, some specific apps need to be added to the lockdown (as hidden item when finally found out).

In general this sounds like a very specific issue you should take a look into with support.
So, i recommend to raise a support case to fix it with them.
But also want to mention, i see the behavior from the S11 as the more correct one than from the rest of the devices.
We had a short discussion on that also on the Android Enterprise Community where i mentioned it would be good to have an option here to be implemented by Google and/or Mobicontrol to be set for different use cases, to block or enable Dex when a lockdown is set as you could workaround the lockdown with that which would be from company side normally a security risk (if the lockdown is not only used for login/logout to/from shared device mode).
