impossible to reconnect to soti server with the wired network after a reboot

hello,

We own Zebra TC57 docker terminals connected to a wired network via charging docks. We restart them with a planned task when they are all wired to the charging dock.

Following this restart, some terminals cannot connect to the mobicontrol server via the wired network whereas some can, very randomly.

I tried to unplug the wired network and all my Zebra TC57 terminals so it connects using wifi.

Following this, the Zebra TC57 terminals are rebooted and all of them reconnect normally but on wifi.

I think there is a problem with the soti agent application or with tC57 terminals. We have noticed this problem since an update from android 8 to android 11.

Hello Teddy,

Thank you for posting on SOTI Pulse!

You can go through the link below, which might help you with disabling MAC randomization via stage now.

I'm going to try this solution on around ten terminals and I'll tell you what it is

Hi Teddy,

Is it same network your devices are connecting to even with wired/wireless connection option? or is it different network for wired connection option, if yes, did/do you have any good connection from your wired network to your MobiControl server; I'm just wondering is there any port/network related issue for the wired connection.

Alternatively, if you did not check this out yet, after you connect one of your test device via wired option, you can verify the connection to MC server by using 3rd party applications such as ping&net

Hy zafer,

It is the same network, same vlan and the same switch so the problem is not on the network.

For the test you are offering me I don't think it is useful because if the terminal is connected via wifi and to the mobicontrol server and I switch it to wired I have no problems.

I think Matt Dermody is right, the problem would come from the Mac address

You may be experiencing an issue with MAC randomization on A11. There also can be issues with certain versions of MobiControl not cleanly identifying a device that is connecting over an ethernet connection if it originally enrolled over WiFi with a different registered MAC. I believe these issues were happening to MobiControl 15.3 but I can't recall the specific subversion. We had to disable Ethernet network connections in some of those older environments until we could get them upgraded to a higher MC version.
